Lamentably, my food and drink experience were less than nice this time. I realize that tastes are subjective, but Iâve gone to over a dozen large and small cafes in Bogota and the espresso is almost always dialed in and well balanced; this shot in Libertario was far too acidic. To add insult to injury, the only small sweet pastry left was a chocolate chip cookie that looked a little off to begin with, and then I find out it was gluten free (not labeled) and genuinely was the worst cookie Iâve ever put in my mouth. I left it there after one bite. When I mentioned it to the server, as feedback; his response was âwe all have different tastesâ. Very slow service on a Wednesday morning. Two total employees; they needed at least four as there were like 20 patrons sitting down. The female waitress was moving very slowly.
A group of 4 people came in and ordered AFTER me and received their drinks BEFORE me.
When I paid at the end, I was asked if I wanted to leave a voluntary service tip, and when I declined (due to bad service) the employee looked at me disgusted.
My macchiato was really bad: first of all it had the volume of a cortado, not a macchiato. And even if it was a cortado, the milk completely overpowered the espresso and I could barely taste the coffee.
