My husband and I just hosted our wedding at the Marques. It was truly an experience for the books! Our wedding looked like a fairytale wedding inside this gorgeous colonial house full of history. Monica and her team were very attentive and always ready to help us or answer any questions. Monica was very patient with me and always transparent, professional with a positive vibe. We met the owner of the hotel who went above and beyond for us to have the best experience.
The rooms are beautiful and unique, the sitting area and patio is very cool and romantic. The decor fits perfectly with the hotel’s colonial theme.
I want to highlight the servers, house keepers, bar tenders and the CHEF!!!! They truly went above and beyond to create the best wedding vibe by serving all my guests with a smile and the best customer service Colombia has to offer. Our favorite server was Charles! He was the favorite of our guests and the most charismatic and attentive.
The food here is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! I have no idea why this restaurant is not on a “best places to eat” in Cartagena but holy cow! The food tasted like a 5 star restaurant! Thank you so much Chef for creating the most delicious dishes we had in Cartagena and best ceviche & shrimp cocktail we have had in our entire lifes!
I truly recommend this beautiful hidden gem for dinner, a stay or for a wedding. The staff, location, food, drinks was everything! We will never forget you...
Read moreI just stayed here for my birthday. The hotel is absolutely charming, gorgeous and very romantic. The location is absolutely great in the walled city as it is so close to the wall and a few of the spots to eat and drink "on" the wall. I'd stay here again for location alone. Also, the lounge area was one of my favorites I've ever stayed out. It's upstairs and breathtaking. A few of the cons: Even though I loved our room and out little patio overlooking the pool, the plug in the bathroom was pretty problematic. My hair straightener and steamer would not stay plugged in and my boyfriend literally had to hold it. That was room 305, I can't speak for any other rooms. I did have to call down for a hair dryer, the first one started smoking and sparked when I started using it so quickly unplugged and took it back downstairs. I let my hair air dry that day. They left a new one in my room and it worked fine. Breakfast service is very slow and you only have 3 options to choose from so it's very basic. If you're looking for a variety for breakfast this is not it. We had dinner one night as well, it was decent.
Overall, everyone was friendly, I really enjoyed our stay and the city in general. You will get hassled A LOT while walking around out and about, which was pretty annoying but to be expected I guess. I'll definitely be back but may try a different...
Read moreThe experience so far at El Marques Faranda Boutique is been exceptional. I have traveled to many different countries and places and I never felt more welcome and attended like I have here, our receptionist Dylan have taking it to another level of attentiveness, taking care of every single one of our needs and indicating where and what to do. Always checking every detail to make us comfortable and making sure that our experience here was unforgettable. |We were also taken care by Omar and Juan at Happy Wine within the hotel and them too were amazing at making sure that we were happy with our service and they sure made us feel at home. I recommend anyone looking for a boutique experience to book their travels with El Marques. I have never felt more at home, all my wants and needs in this travel experience were achieved.
