Awesome view. Breakfast is nice as well if your favourite dish is a bag of salt. The tent that we booked was not available because of the rain (fair enough), but cancelling was not an option (bit weird for an unavailable room). They wanted to charge us double the money for changing the room but it was not our fault for overbooking the rooms. In our opinion we should have had two options provided, since it was not our fault. 1. A refund for the unavailable room or, 2. A free upgrade to another room TLDR: Even though the views were incredibly sweet and the breakfast was terribly salty, our experience left us with a bit of bitter aftertaste.

I stayed in a private room at the Girasol while I was in Salento for about a week and I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s right on the outskirts of town, so it’s quiet, but still only a 5-10 minute walk to the center. The staff was friendly, kind, helpful, and of course funny! The views of the countryside from the Girasol were amazing. I definitely enjoyed several hours gazing at sunsets while writing in my journal from the back patio. All the guests I met seemed to be super chill too. This place was clean, cool, and had a good vibe. Stay a night, a week, or a month; you’ll be more than satisfied.

The service is a 5 but the rooms were extremely small and we didn’t have hot water the first night of our stay and it inconsistent throughout the stay. The rooms felt very cramped and hardly any space to put our things around. The views from the hostel on the balcony was incredible though and it was only a few minutes away from the bus station which is a plus but a bit away from bit of a walk into the main town. Overall the was ok and the price we paid, nearly $40(week of Semana Santa) wasn’t worth it

The people running it are just bad, especially the girl at the front desk, Jelitza. She claims I was rude, when all I did was ask if the staff could talk a little more quietly considering it was 6am and they were practically yelling at each other for no reason at all. I never asked for silence, just respect and courtesy which was too much for her to comprehend.

She decided she hated me when I made a complaint about them mowing the lawn AT 7 AM IN THE MORNING. Sorry, but any hotel owner with half a brain would not choose to do this so early out of respect for its guests.

Absolutely loved it. Discovered the place through their motorcycle rental service (which is great to explore) and decided to have a look as our first hostel in the city wasn't good. The owner Carlos is the absolute definition of hospitality and was amazing with us, same for the rest of his family. Rooms are small but trust me if you see the terasse you'll not stay indoor. Views are spectacular and breakfast is generous and tasty. I highly recommend! You are 5 min walking to the center and the bus station is 1 min away, if you are concerned about noise, this place is very silent and I slept like a stone ! Duerme como una piedra...
