I don't usually leave reviews but felt I should in this case. My family and I (wife and kids) decided to check out Beta Town as it was well reviewed and close to where we were staying. We were welcomed by a lovely, friendly lady (the manager or owner?) who seated us right away. One thing we noticed immediately was the enclosed soccer (football) field right in the courtyard of the restaurant. After bringing the menus, the lady presented us a ball and said we could use the field. After ordering, we went and played a game as a family and had a great time. When our food arrived, it looked great. It was delicious!!! We had steak that was cooked a perfect medium rare. We also ordered the trout, which was phenomenal. Even the sides were great...sesame garlic fried green beans, mashed potatoes. A salad was also included. We had been in Colombia for nearly 3 weeks and this was hands down our best meal. Oh yeah, and the prices were also very reasonable. The next day we returned and got burgers. They were big and juicy with lots of toppings! And again we had a family soccer game. After dinner, the friendly lady offered to teach us the traditional Colombian game of Tejo...it's kind of like horseshoes except you're throwing heavy metal discs at targets filled with gunpowder. She has a whole building just up from the restaurant that has 2 courts where this can be played. Great fun! Check it out if you're looking for great food, friendly service and some...
Read moreI don't know what to praise first, but I'll start with the service which was spectacular! They were attentive, but not over bearing. We were having a good time and kept asking for things or asking to switch some drinks once we saw what someone else ordered, and they worked with that. The music was great and when we asked, they gladly turned it up! The only bad thing is that the food was so delicious, and the portions we're very large, we didn't get to try the dessert afterwards. Not going to lie, my favorite food was the garlic and butter green beans. Everything was delicious but I REALLY loved those. The drinks were good, we had multiple, and overall we loved the Piña Colada. We played Tejo's afterwards which was an absolute blast! ;) If I ever make it back to Solento I will definitely be...
Read moreWhat a fanstic restaurant! We were super early for dinner so had the whole place to ourselves, but the young lady serving us was super attentive and helpful. There's an attached 5-a-side pitch so you can have a little kickabout while you wait for your food! I had the grilled trout for mains, which was absolutely delicious and fresh with a lovely smokey flavour. Although trout can be found anywhere in this town, here it was cooked to perfection and mostly deboned for once. The sides were good too, except salad which was somewhat lacking, but that's Colombia for you I guess! Although empty, the place still had a nice ambience and was beautifully decorated. Would return here in a heartbeat if I ever got the...
