Hotel Vista del Cerro — Hotel in La Fortuna

Things I liked: Location makes all the attractions only a 5-10 minute drive. Staff is kind and personable, they are exceptionally accommodating. Airconditioned rooms and the air conditioning works great. This is a must in the humid climate. The second floor does have a view of the volcano; however, cloud cover is common, and we saw the full view of the volcano one of the five days we stayed. Nice garden with many different types of flowers.

Things I disliked: The beds are hard, and the pillows are hard. The beds creak loudly when you get up from them. The beds are up against a wall and the foot of the beds are about three feet from the adjacent wall, and the overall structure is shaped rectangular. This all makes the room feel like a shipping container. The size of the main bed is a true double bed size. Due to the location on the main road, at night it sounds like airplanes are lifting off outside and the large trucks sound like gun shots. This activity is from 5 am to 1 am the next morning. No shampoo, conditioner, or hair dryer provided

This venue was perfect! The hotel is small, so special attention can be given to every detail and has a spectacular view of the volcano. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful, even when we arrived very late at night! The staff suggested activities that might interest us and helped us make reservations. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a choice of traditional Costa Rican or American food. ||||This location felt like home by the time we left. Basic but nice rooms. Has just what is needed, although I would recommend they change the lightbulbs from fluorescent to a warmer light. Felt like I was in jail when I had the overhead light on 😅. Also the road noise is very loud at times, so bring earplugs, but other than that it is a very nice stay, fair price, great service, great location, and overall a good choice besides...
