Main Street Studio and Rooms — Hotel in Grad Zadar

My girlfriend and I had stayed one night on June 24, 2019 in Main Street Studio and Rooms in Zadar, Croatia. We chose this place because the pricing was very reasonable, the place is well located and the host Paula seemed friendly while welcoming you. The location is good but the bathroom is very cramped and was dirty.||||However, the main problem arose when Paula pre authorized the credit card as well as collected cash during arrival, promising to cancel the pre authorization but after departure, she charged the card for the stay and thus double charged us with cash and credit card. ||||Subsequently, she made up some excuse (like dirty towels, etc.) without any proof to avoid refunding the charge of the card in part or in full. We were really surprised to be charged like this with no prior intimation or communication before she charged us. When we tried contacting her about this matter, she became very rude about returning the full money. My advice to tourists is to stay away from this place and avoid getting scammed like this. We booked 3 nights in this accomodation during June and while the owner knew our arrival time (around midnight) and he confirmed self check in, he failed to provide us with the key. After searching the keys for hours and trying to reach them with more than 20 calls, we gave up and went back to the car to spend the night. A month later, we are still waiting for a refund.
