We stayed in room 3. It was a lovely room decorated with antique furnishings. The woman who runs the hotel (her husband is the chef) couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. She loves what she is doing right now and it shows. There are some very nice touches like little bouquets of real flowers here and there and an electric tea kettle in the room with fancy china cups and saucers. There is a nice courtyard where you can sit if you choose. There is off the street parking for 3 cars and we were able to avail ourselves of one of the spots. ||||Breakfast is not included. You can, the day before, order a cold breakfast or hot breakfast for the next morning. There is a different fee for each. We ordered a cold breakfast and were amazed to find a table beautifully arranged with cheeses and meats, breads, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes, coffee, and juices. The amazing part was not what we were served, but the care that was taken to make it beautiful.||||We asked for some restaurant recommendations and were very pleased to be directed to Paluba restaurant, less than a block away. The setting was beautiful. We had a great meal. A huge burger with fries (the fries were outstanding) and a braised rabbit leg with mashed potatoes and onions (again the potatoes were outstanding). ||||We found the hotel to be extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable and a real bargain to boot.||||If you are looking for all the modern bells and whistles like international TV, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for quiet comfort in an old restored building with lots of warmth and charm, then look no further. This...
Read moreNo service at all, I had to use the same towel for 4 night, which is how long I stayed. Tried to ask for towels but they either didn't understand English or just didn't know where the towels are. You would think even if you are just one person, you booked a family room for 4 night they would give you more then one towel but no, just one towel and no cleaning service so no towel exchange. Check in is in the restaurant which is a little weird, you wait in line with the people paying for their food, they just give you the key after you paid city tax, no information, no welcome. There is no elevator, you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself. The room is old, musty and it smells. You don't get use to the musty smell until several hours in, and that is everytime you go out and come back in. There is lots of cups but they are all dirty. The heater is very very weak, you put your hand on it and it's only slightly warm. The heater would even turn off after a while and the room is freezing. You can hear everyone in the building, talking, walking and even having *. So if you have kids don't bring them here, you don't want to have to explain anything. I got kinda scared one night with really loud continues banging, people are maybe fighting, I was scared they will bang open my door. The location of this place is pretty good at the center of the old town but that's about it. They room had a nice charm but it's poorly kept, dirty, creaking every step you take. This place need renovation and...
Read moreWe were hesitant to book this hotel because of the mixed reviews, but it turned out that there was absolutely nothing to worry about. The room was exceptionally clean, the service was great, and the location is perfect in the center of the city. We checked in early because we arrived earlier than expected, and they accommodated us without a problem. We had a nice view over the road in front, and the room itself was very charming with groin vaulted ceilings and beautiful antique furniture. The beds were comfy and the linens were all soft. We booked the triple room and it was quite spacious, more like an apartment than just a hotel room. Very little noise, no distractions, etc. The manager also was very kind and understanding. If there was only one complaint, the bathroom shower cabin had the most minute bit of mold, but I’ve stayed in infinitely worse hotels (and this isn’t even a hotel it’s a guesthouse). If the quality wasn’t up to par at some point in the past, they’ve completely fixed all the problems that they might have had and it’s more than acceptable...
