Penzion Pod Hrazi — Hotel in okres Český Krumlov

Pod Hrazi is a charming and comfortable bed and breakfast just a ten minute stroll from the center of Cesky Krumlov. My room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The room contained a hot pot to make coffee or tea and a mini refrigerator stocked with wine and beer at a very reasonable price. The bed was comfortable and the shower provided very hot water. The breakfast was delicious and included scrambled eggs, sliced meats and cheeses, several types of breads and an amazing cream cheese and fruit pastry. The pot of coffee was large, a first for me on this trip. The innkeeper Irena was very friendly and helpful. In addition to Czech she also speaks English and German and possibly additional languages. If you are driving there is free parking available. The rooms are very reasonably priced. A great value over rooms in the town center for three or four times the price and no noisy tourists. We have stayed here for two nights and have had a thoroughly wonderful experience. Irina is friendly, kind and helpful. The amenities in the room were above what we have found in Europe. The breakfast is huge even fried eggs on the second morning as well as the usual meats, cheeses and bread. There is also yogurt, sliced fruit and to finish with your third cup of coffee a pastry - marble cake and then apple strudel today. We felt very welcome here from the minute Irina met us at the door. The pension is perfectly situated so there are no worries about finding parking in the town, as there is free parking and we enjoyed the short walk into the beautiful town of Cesky Krumlov. This place is not faultless but still good deal for money we paid. As a plus I would state friendliness of owner, availability of apartment with more than one room, garden for kids, breakfast above Czech standards, free parking in garden or in front of house (which is not standard for Cesky Krumlov) and still close location not far away from historical center (10 minutes by slow walk). Disadvantage old fashioned equipment of rooms (look like from 80's :-) and strange smell in room, perhaps from carpets - the rooms were on the other hand perfectly clean, just the smell was not nice.
