There are plenty of restaurants that carry a 4.9 star rating, and often you wonder if it is really justified. After all, with over 1.6k reviews, that kind of score sets high expectations. We come from Australia and consider ourselves accomplished home chefs, especially when it comes to meat, which makes us fairly fussy about food. Our usual benchmark is the quality, the joy of the experience, and whether we could replicate or even improve on it at home.
So yes, we walked in curious and maybe even a little skeptical. But this restaurant absolutely deserves every bit of its 4.9. In fact, it deserves a full 5 out of 5 from us.
The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The food was fantastic, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. We left not only satisfied, but inspired to try creating new burger varieties at home.
It is rare that a place hits all the right notes like this. Do not miss it, you will walk away as...
Read moreAn excellent burger place in Český Krumlov. The burgers are delicious, and they make a great portion together with the fries and homemade lemonade. The price is a little bit high, but that is to be expected in this town.
However, while the staff is friendly, the professionalism is a little bit lacking. They did not make sure that the order is correct; while not every waitress does this, it can prevent mistakes when mishearing the customer. But the more serious issue is not offering other options of the homemade lemonade while the restaurant has them (and they were offered to a different table!). Since the menu just mentions "lemonade", we expected a refreshing drink made of lemons, not berries. And lastly, a table next to us was waiting a long time for the menu despite being seated by a waitress.
The setting of the restaurant is not bad, but it would be better cleaned; hanging spider webs just above us made it look like an...
Read moreThe food took 50 minutes to arrive, partially got cold and containd coriander, which my father explicitly asked not for (luckily not because of an allergy),actually I was mildly amused by jow they manadge to put it in every single one of his dishes. We ordered cheddar fries and when they got to our table they were soggy and covered with a white cheese that didn't look or taste anything like cheddar, more like a bitter mozzarella (the texture was also different, not creamy at all). Even when asked directly l, the staff continued to say it was cheddar. The burger was good but still overpriced and full of coriander, which luckily only ruined my father's lunch, but would have caused much bigger problems if he were allergic to it. Long story short: it wasn't worth it at all, hope they fix this problems, add more transparecy to the contents of their dishes and pay more attention on...
