Read moreMy wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Bohemia for a week in early July 2017. I need to be clear, that we didn't stay in the hotel proper. The hotel owns some apartments that are position just over the road from the main hotel building, and we stayed in one of those.
The apartments are fully self-contained with full kitchen and laundry facilities provided. The rooms are new and pretty big by European standards. The rooms are serviced only once per week, which was fine by us, but it's important to realise that these apartments are not going to be serviced every day. I believe that you can request more frequent servicing, but that this costs extra.
One the plus side, everything in the apartment was new and in good working condition. Wifi was free, easy, and fast. The apartment is superbly located within walking distance of almost all of Prague's main attractions, including Wenceslas Square, and the Old Town Square. I also walked to both Prague Castle and Petrin Hill from the apartment, but that took a little longer.
Residents at the apartment can make use of the hotel facilities. The breakfast at this hotel is excellent, offering both buffet and a la carte options. Staff at the hotel are young, helpful, friendly, and speak English well. I felt that the rate was reasonable, given the position of the hotel, and comparable rates throughout the city.
On the downside, the apartments are not air conditioned. As with a lot of accommodation in Europe, it was superbly set up to keep you warm, but hopeless at keeping you cool, and we were there on some pretty warm days. The bedroom is small (although the bed itself if comfortable), and there is limited storage space. Also, the downside of being so centrally located is that tribes of young folk would regularly walk past our window in the small hours making one hell of a racket! That's not the hotel's fault, of course, but it's worth taking note of. Finally, you only get one set of keys, which can be inconvenient when you are heading off in different directions.
With these caveats in mind, I would encourage you to consider the Grand Hotel Bohemia on your next...

In short—this place is a gem!
First off, the location is perfect. Just a few minutes’ walk to the Old Town, the Astronomical Clock, and the Powder Tower. Super easy to explore the city from here.
The hotel itself is all about classic European charm—no modern trendy vibes, just timeless elegance. The decor, the piano in the lobby, the dining room setup, even the cutlery—it’s got that old-school class that I love.
The service? Amazing. The staff is super friendly, speaks great English, and always happy to help. They were super attentive, granted all our requests, and even took care of the little things—like surprising us with chocolates after check-out.
We stayed in a junior suite, and it was huge (by European standards). Comfy bed, big windows, and a tiny balcony with a killer view of Týnský chrám and Pražský hrad. Waking up to church bells instead of a phone alarm? Priceless.
Everything was spotless the whole stay. If I had to nitpick, the bathroom felt a bit old-school (no walk-in shower), and the water pressure was weak—maybe because we were on a high floor. But honestly, not a big deal.
Breakfast was top-notch—great buffet and à la carte options, and the service was just as awesome.
Bottom line: Highly recommend. I usually don’t stay at the same hotel twice, but this one? I’m...
