We visited the restaurant with my Czech and French family on the 4th of August. We were seated at the bottom part of the restaurant with an incredible amount of noise so we couldn’t hear each other while seated face to face. One of the exotic-looking waiter with dreadlocks serving meat made the meat drip-bowl slip off the table. 100 ml of beef blood and juices splashed onto the chair and our white leather Marc Jacobs handbag. Which is something that can happen of course, but the waiter looked at me as if it were my fault, didn’t bother to apologize and disappeared. Another young waiter came to our table, said they had a chemical product ready and wanted to leave it on the table „so I clean it.“ I let him clean the handbag, which he did very poorly, and the bag was left with permanent stains. Again, no apology. Later on, another dark-skinned Czech shorter waiter came to our desk, presented the cut of the meat, but we couldn’t understand him, so he repeated the name of the cut three times, each time louder and angrier. When he asked me where the non-Czech family was from, I replied „France“, and he had the courage to reply „ah, naturally…“ implying that they wouldn’t understand anything in English no matter how hard he would try. Overall, a disaster. I understand that accidents happen, but annoyed insolent waiters are not what you expect when paying 11000 CZK for one table, it was just a pure disappointment, and I will never visit Brasileiro again. Another victim of its own success, an...
Read moreA bit disappointed with our visit, although it may be because our expectations were so high due to things we’ve heard, and the price of the restaurant. It wasn’t anything in particular, most of the experience wasn’t to our liking. The lower room is quite large and beautiful but the acoustics make it impossible to hear one another, let alone the people describing the meats The meats themselves, which I felt should have been the highlight, didn’t really impress either of us. It felt more like quantity over quality, where I’d rather just one good piece of meat instead of never ending so-so meat This is related to the entire concept of the restaurant, but I don’t find it very relaxing or enjoyable to have people come to your table every 2 minutes (squeezed between the adjacent table as well) to be able to receive your food. The person would welcomed us and took our coat seemed absolutely annoyed that we were there. I don’t need everyone to smile ear to ear but it’s the first person you talk, it kind of sets a mood. I’ll concede the cocktails were great, I recommend the lime caipirinha. I think it comes down to the price, at which you’d expect a really amazing meal. For such an amount you can get 2 amazing meals at many places in Prague. We...
Read moreI’m normally a little sceptical about dining in central Prague as many of the restaurants are geared towards tourists with their flashy gimmicks and overpriced food. I have to say this place exceeded my expectations. The food at the salad bar was very good for a buffet and once we sat down with our plates, the servers never stopped coming with freshly grilled meat and prawns.
After what seemed like my twentieth serving, I was forced to tap out and spent the next day trying to digest the pile of meat I had just eaten.
My only real criticism of this place is that the prices are very high, especially for drinks. Finding a bottle of wine that runs less than 1000czk is a hard ask and a beer will set you back 100czk. My wife ordered a 100czk orange lemonade and specifically asked if it was fresh, to which the waiter arrogantly retorted “…Of course!” only to bring a glass of fluorescent orange which tasted like orange squash.
If you bring an appetite and stick to ordering the meat, it’s worth the 1200czk/head, but it’s the sort of meal you’d like to enjoy with a nice bottle of red. Maybe it’s the German in me, but I can’t bring myself to shell out 1500czk for a bottle of wine that probably costs no more than...
