McSleep Hostel is located in the central area of Prague. The owner, the staff & the people who were staying there were the friendliest people I’ve met on my current trip!
Location
One of the best things about McSleep hostel is indeed its location. The hostel is located very centrally. 10-15 mins walk away from most of the attractions. The transport connections (Tram, Bus, Train, Metro) are equally good.
From the central station (Prague H. N.), it’s just one metro station & 5 mins walk away.
Staff
The staff of McSleep Hostel makes you feel like you’re home with family. They will do anything to help you. They are up for a small talk as well (if they are not busy that is). I interacted with Ulvi & Sava. They both were friendly, helpful & knowledgable.
The owner – Marek Banka gives personal attention to the hostel & that’s what make McSleep Hostel like home. Marek is very friendly as well & always up for new discussions.
Sleep Quality
The rooms of McSleep Hostel are spacious, clean & comfortable. The beds are nice, they provide you with bedsheets, towels, pillow covers & blankets. You don’t have to worry about anything!
Every bed has 3 sockets to charge electronics which is really good considering all travelers have a lot of gadgets. There are personal lockers for every traveler in the room.
Kitchen Facility
Hands down the best kitchen I’ve ever been to while on a trip. The kitchen is stocked with all kind of utensils. You can use free tea, coffee, hot chocolates sachets. You can also use biscuits, sugar, salt & other necessary ingredients without paying for anything.
If you feel like giving something back, you can keep some food in their free food section or drop some money in their box so that future travelers can avail of the same facility.
Other Amenities
McSleep Hostel has laundry facility. You can use their washing machine & the dryer.
They provide toiletries as well, so you don’t have to worry about carrying shampoo or body wash. Their toilets are squeaky clean & bathrooms are spacious.
Other than these, you can play Netflix in their living room with other people or just chitchat with other travelers. At night, many travelers play games, get into music sessions or simply eat together. This gives McSleep Hostel a very homely feeling.
The WiFi is great & Oh! You also get free drinks if you behave nicely.
Overall
There are many hostels in Prague but none of them might have this kind of...
Read moreI reached around 10 P.M. in the night. Sunny (hostel staff) came down to pick me and get my luggage. He could have just told me to take the elevator and come on the 5th floor. He on boarded me properly and made sure I feel comfortable. He gave me a welcome drink and took me to the room to settle me.||It is a small hostel with approximately 20 beds. The best part is that you will befriend new people since you will literally meet everyone at the hostel. Met people over breakfast and the next thing was that I was out with 4 of them. These things are better at a compact and closely knit hostel.||The location is good. It is 15 minutes walk to old town and about 30 minutes to the Charles bridge. Palladium Mall is within 10 minutes walking distance. The hostel is near the Florenc station. It gets quiet at night, but it is completely safe. You just have to exercise common sense. ||I am a cleanliness freak. The hostel is spotlessly clean. The sheets are clean. I saw the cleaning lady. She made sure to get each and every hair out. The showers are hi tech with different angles. You will find toiletries as well. ||There is a kitchen where you can cook. Tea, Coffee and Milk are free all day. ||There is a lounge with games and Netflix and comfortable sofas and bean bags. It is a great place to meet new people.||The staff is excellent. Both Sunny and Ulvi are great. ||There is a locker to store your valuables. Inside the locker is a safe for you to store your passport and valuables. Take their padlock as it will work the best on the locker.||They give you 3 keys. One for main door, hostel door and for the locker. ||Overall, McSleep made my Prague stay good :)||There is nothing in particular I didn't like. Just one thing: If you are checking in after 12 midnight, you need to inform them as the staff is not there afterwards.||Also there is no AC. At night, the weather was cool so wasn't a problem. I suggest them to keep darker curtains so that the daylight doesn't...
Read moreOne thing I like about this hostel is its close proximity to the Prague Florenc bus station (Praha Florenc), which is around 5-10 minute walk. The hostel is at the 5f of an old building. One might get lost in locating the hostel because there are no large signages outside the building. The entrance of the building is beside Sound Power with brown doors and a number 24 in front of it. It’s just around the corner of the street of Hotel Merkur. |To get in, you have to use their front-entry intercom to let the receptionist know that you are a hostel guest. |One thing I noticed upon entry of the hostel at the 5f is its cozy atmosphere. It was very homey. The hostel reception area and hallways were also very clean. |I booked a single bed in a 4-bed mixed dormitory. The room had 2 double deck beds and had 4 safes, one for each guest in the room. They provided a towel for free and a blanket to use. They gave me a key for the front door after I checked in |The hostel is around 20-30 minute walk from the Prague Old Town square. It was also close to KFC, McDonalds, Baguetterie Boulevard, and other fastfood joints. In case you plan to eat in the hostel, the guests can use their kitchen to cook or to prepare food and eat there. |The hostel’s living room also feels so cozy with bean bags, TV, books and magazines, and some games to keep you busy if you want to spend a day just lounging around in the hostel. |Overall, I was really surprised when I got to see this hostel because this was below the radar in Tripadvisor. This was not in the Top 10 user ranked hostels. But I am glad that I took Booking’s rating as a factor to book this hostel. |This is definitely a good value for money and if ever I get back in Prague to see its beautiful city, I won’t second guess to stay again in...
