Check your bill before paying!!
I am furious to realise that the price on the bill is higher than the price on the menu, by 12-28 czk per item. Luckily I checked the bill and immediately questioned the waiter. I asked why the price is different and if there is a compulsory service charge that is not written anywhere on the menu. The waiter went away to check and the response was it is a system mistake, they they forgot to update the price. Of coz, how convenient it is to blame the system. While I paid the actual price stated on the menu, I have been observing 2 other tables that paid at a similar time at me, no action have been taken to avoid over charging the customers at the time I observed. The service definitely 0/5
As for the food, 3 dishes were ordered with mixed ratings.
Salmon sashimi - 3/5 The is a ceviche style salmon, served with Chinese style ginger with spring onion. An attempt to mix Peru, Japanese and Chinese style. Innovative and risk taking? Yes, but there are a few issues with this dish. First off expectation, if it is named as ceviche than sashimi, it may be better off. It lacks a bit of sweetness compared ceviche and lacks savoury compared with sashimi. In addition, I would question the use of ginger (or the amount of it) as it over powers other taste of the dish. And as a sashimi, it does not bring out the fish. Average as one of their signature dish.
Pork belly sliders - 4.5/5 Amazing signature dish. Chinese style bao with fried shredded pork belly with hoisin sauce, light pickled cucumber and spring onions. Taken 0.5 out of the full mark is that there are many other restaurant serving the same/similar dish (perhaps not in Prague only).
Sansho Fritto Misto (fried calamari and soft shell crab) - 0/5 So the dish was named fried calamari and soft shell crab, when my dish was served, it only have calamari. I asked the waiter if there should be soft shell crab, their response was it is in the bottom of the dish. I showed them it is lacking any trace of soft shell crab and so the dish was sent back to the kitchen. After around 10mins my dish returned, with less than a quarter of it are soft shell crab, still far below 50/50. The main problem of this dish is the seasoning, the soft shell crabs are way over seasoned while the calamari is under seasoned. The chef is definitely responsible for inspecting the dish before it was served and clearly responsible for the 2 major incidents on this dish. On top of this, the batter for the calamari is a bit too hard to be enjoyable.
Overall a disappointing experience and I decided to spend 20mins of my time writing this. Am I being too picky? I would say I’d expect a lot more from a former chef from Nobu London. Sansho holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and have have highly positive reviews overall. This is defo not meeting expectations. I hope Paul Day and his team would address this. To make the restaurant justice, their price have been unbearable, I had 3 starters for the price of 20GBP, one of them is amazing (pork belly slider), with the other quite innovative (salmon). I just hope they are not compromising quality control for the price which lead to the...

Read moreI made a reservation via online while they were closed Sun-Mon. Tues morning I recieved an email confirmation for my Lunch at 1pm. Easy peasy!
I walked in & said I had a reservation... the guy said just 1? Take any seat you want. So I looked around & found 2 long tables in the back with seats avail (to share) at the other end. So I took a seat at a long table with 3 gentlemen.
They let in ~6 other groups of 2 people that slowly showed up, grabbed menus & sat them at tables in the further further back section (which I had no idea even existed).
The entire time I sat without menu waiting. And waiting...
Eventually that same guy came back & started talking in Czeck to another cowkr... sounded like he wanted to move me. But he switched to English & confirmed slowly that it was just me & started picking up the other 2 sets of silverware. Let's keep it real, what a dick move: tell me to take a seat anywhere... but not REALLY anywhere. eye roll
Anyways, I was transferred to a gal waitress who I immediately asked for sparkling water. She arrived with a small bottle of sparkling while I perused the menu.
I asked for recommendations & got the 3 dishes she recommended. 1st two were lovely & I was full but had a 3rd dish coming, it was good but not as good at the prior 2.
In order of deliciousness: 1. Pork "sliders" (pic 1 - surprisingly, 5 stars!) 2. Salmon (pic 3 - 4 stars) 3. Brocolli Shrimp (pic 2 - 3 stars)
Interior is...
