We booked the Junior Suite for four nights. However, due to there being a leak below our room, we were asked to evacuate our room at 10pm. We were moved to a downgraded room, which was significantly smaller with a single bed instead of a queen-sized bed. The new single bed didn’t fit one of our party members who was a grown man. Furthermore, there was not enough chairs or towels in the new room either. Consequently, we tried to sort the situation, however we discovered the person on reception had no control or say over decisions, and that the only way to communicate with the manager was virtually, by email. This was a slow process, opposed to speaking to someone directly, and as a result, much of our time was spent sending emails back and forth, which interfered with our time in Prague. I would have thought it would make sense for a manager to be based in the building (at least during the day). This virtual experience of a manger needs to be changed, especially if residents want to raise, resolve or have clarity over accommodation problems.
Edit- In regards to this response, the information given by the manager is completely inaccurate.
Only ONE small room was offered when we were told to move. There was NO manager present throughout our 4 night stay, even though we asked to speak to her numerous times, but we were told this wasn’t possible. In regards to a manager being present the next day - we were in the accommodation until 12 o’clock, so why not communicate with us that you are in the building? In regards to the “refund”, we were only refunded for the cheapest night, after we had to EMAIL the manager and prompt a response. This refund wasn't even equivalent to one full night.
I have never experienced a manager not to speak to their guests in person when a...
Read moreMiss Sophie’s Charles Bridge will go down as one of our favorite hotels ever! The location is unbeatable. Right in the midst of Mala Strana, just a short walk to Charles Bridge, as well as a 15-20 minute walk to Prague Castle, Petrin Park, and so many great dining and cafe options. The room is incredible. It’s so unique, quaint yet spacious, and beautiful. There are steep narrow stairs to get to the loft where you sleep, so this is not a wheelchair accessible place. It was clean, there are fans and a portable AC unit, but my favorite part was the old windows we could open. There are some nice complimentary treats in the fridge as well! The building is a very large historic building and I could hardly believe we were staying there. The view out the window is phenomenal of St Nicholas Church, and this area of Prague is just perfect. It’s all historic, gets quiet at night, and so charming. I can’t say enough good things about this area and the hotel added to our experience, for sure. My only complaints are that the elevator was SCARY, and so we walked 4 stories up the stairs. Also the breakfast is small but sufficient, however the hot food wasn’t very hot and the juices were not kept cold. There is also no designated parking and the staff was friendly albeit not very helpful in finding parking. We ended up paying the nearby Aria hotel for their valet parking services which was expensive, but convenient as it was just around the corner. Also be warned that the clock tower right across the street rings its bell every hour, like all throughout the night. We wanted to sleep with the windows open for the breeze, but had to put...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere central, with self catering facilities but simple and reasonably priced. We were not disappointed! This is a little gem of a place. Very well situated for trams and buses just outside the door that will get you to all of Prague, cheaply and quickly. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops within a five minute walk. The studios are situated on the third floor of a lovely old building. Our studio overlooked Malostranske Namesti and was great for people watching. The studio comprised a small sitting area with table and chairs, a sofa, a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, plates, cutlery and a few utensils and pans. It was fine for making a simple meal if you didn't fancy eating out. The shower room was just off the room. The mezzanine bedroom was up some stairs and had adequate storage space. The room was very well heated which was great as was very cold outside! The continental style breakfast was laid out in the corridor to help yourself in the morning. It was lovely, with pastries, croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit juices etc. We took our selection back to our room to eat. The staff were great. The lady who made the breakfast and cleaned the room was so lovely as were the reception staff who could all speak...
