Judging by the photos we had the same apartment as Salma A. We were two men looking for two separate bedrooms. The flat is spartan withvery little furniture. The main bedroom has beds for three on the floor and two more beds on a mezzanine. My friend slept in the main bedroom. I slept on a matress on a raised base in the mezzanine above the kitchen/living area. The rooms had very high ceilings and hence the space for the mezzanine floors. If you’re a group of 6-8 youngsters interrailing round Europe then this is ideal accommodation. There’s a dining table that will just about take 6 of the 8 dining chairs and a very uncomfortable sofa that’ll seat three. The doors of the kitchen cupboards were broken and the doors to the cupboards in the bathroom showed considerable water damage (bulging fibreboard). It just didn’t feel very comfortable and homely unlike the photos on the TA page. Really quite tired and showing lack of investment and maintenance.||||The bathroom was fine with two washbasins, a bidet (probably tells you something about the date of the last refurb) and a shower in a bath (with inevitable and dreadful shower curtain). Water pressure and temperature were fine. Soap provided. Good sized hand and bath towels.||||At night there was some noise from the Italian restaurant below but fortunately not too bad or too late. The position in a courtyard off Wenceslas Square was idealfof getting into the centre and the rail station.||||For us this did not represent real value for money. I visited Prague twice now and too often felt that people were happy to take your money without regards to quality of...
Read moreWe chose here for the location, it is about 10 minutes walk from the train station but if you have luggage, the walk will but bumpy on the Rocky roads. However later we found, that there are more accommodation options much closer to the station.||The apartment isn't hard to find, security kind of knew we were coming for the apartment and gave us the key so the 'check in' process was easy. ||The room itself was fine, just very very basic and dull. Toilet was relatively clean, kitchen was clean, but one of the sofa/bed had lots of Rocky stuff on it that we couldn't see initially because of the fabric print. But everything looked dated and worn. Mattresses sagging. ||Now noise level, you hear all kinds of noise on a daily basis. Either noise from party people outside in the courtyard, on the street, in the building,or simply chatting noise from next door. ||We were very lucky to not have encountered what other reviews had mentioned about seeing used condoms or prostitutes near the building, so that was fine. ||The city tax thing, we were charged for city tax which we had to pay more than staying in Berlin for shorter. So it did not really make sense to us. The room rate was not cheap at all. Comparing to our stays in Vienna or Germany or Poland during the same trip.||I am giving a 3 star for the basics and the fact that we got in and out of this place with no major problem. But I would probably recommend looking for more options before you decide to book this one. ||And avoid passing through that park outside of the train station, not to best place to walk through....
Read moreWe stayed here as a group and had a number of issues. ||||Checking in went ok but as there is only a security guard until the next morning we were unable to have some beds made up which were supposed to be or obtain any towels.||||Met with the host, Aldo, the next day and he charged me 1 euro per person, per night for city tax in cash = 33 euros. After he had left, I checked the Booking.com payment form and found that I had already paid 0.60 euros per person. I found him and asked why he had charged twice and at a higher rate, he made excuses but eventually paid me back the cash.||||In addition to this, I was charged in CZK instead of the agreed EURO rate which meant I was a further £15 out of pocket. Again, I asked why and he claimed it was because of exchange rates and walked away.||||Multiple issues with rooms were found -||Room 1: dried blood on the floor - host claimed it was wood staining which it wasn't.||Room 2: room had a third bedroom which had unmade beds and was full of rubbish including used toiletries and old trainers. It appeared as though someone was staying there - host said "the room should be locked" with no apology.||Room 3: Make-up smeared across walls.||||Also to note, ladies of the night work from this complex and they can often be found plying their trade on the stairs within the apartment blocks - not a great thing to have to walk past after...
