Overall – My favorite club I’ve ever been to, internationally speaking. Most clubs, especially in my country, feel like they're doing everything they can to make male guests spend as much money as possible while giving very little value in return. That was not the case with this club — not at all. Regardless of how deep your pockets are, from a male guest's perspective, the experience felt fair and enjoyable.
The staff was friendly, alcohol prices were great, the women were absolutely beautiful, and unlike many other places, the male-to-female ratio was actually balanced and not male-dominated. I also really enjoyed the music, the exotic dancers, and the stunning view this club offers. It was truly a 100% experience. I met so many interesting people, and during my 7-day stay in Prague, I found myself going back to Duplex almost every single night. Every time was amazing.
Now, one criticism that left me disappointed: I’ll give credit to the club for clearly stating their dress code policy on their website and social media — especially regarding jerseys. After seeing quite a few guests wearing football jerseys one night, I assumed the policy was relaxed or outdated. However, on another visit, I came wearing an NBA jersey and was asked to change, as it didn’t meet the dress code. I complied respectfully and was let in afterward with no issue.
That said, I did see other guests wearing football jerseys again later. So if the policy applies only to certain types of jerseys — or, let’s be honest, to certain types of people wearing them — then please be transparent about it. Otherwise, it gives off the impression that some guests are being profiled based on how they’re dressed, which felt unnecessary and unfair.
Regardless, I still had an amazing time. On my next visit to Prague, I’ll definitely come back to this club — no hesitation. Honestly, this experience alone made me want to return to Prague. That’s how...
Read moreDuplex, positioned in the heart of Prague, certainly has its merits as a nightlife destination. The physical setting of the club is undeniably inviting and lends itself to what could be an exceptional evening. However, a few significant issues need addressing.
The entrance fee stands at €16, a price point that one would assume guarantees a premium experience. However, the demeanor of the staff suggests otherwise. It's rather disappointing that after shelling out for entry, patrons are met with a lack of courtesy. While students have the perk of occasionally securing free tickets in advance, this doesn't mitigate the general experience with the staff. Even gestures of goodwill, like tipping, are met with indifference, devoid of a simple 'thank you.'
Security, an integral part of any club's operations, unfortunately, also falls short at Duplex. Their presence on the balcony is more intrusive than protective. Instead of navigating the space with care, they often come off as inconsiderate, trying to bulldoze their way through the crowd. When patrons raise concerns about this, the situation can swiftly turn confrontational, hinting at a lack of professional training.
Musically, Duplex seems to be in a bit of a conundrum. While club-goers seek a harmonious flow to their night, the DJs, on more than one occasion, disrupt this with questionable song choices. There's an evident lack of cohesion in their sets. Just when a universally loved track plays and the energy peaks with everyone singing along, it's abruptly halted mid-chorus. What follows is often an EDM track that, while I have a genuine appreciation for the genre, sounds jarringly amateurish, as if it was haphazardly put together without much thought.
In summary, while Duplex has the makings of a top-tier club, its current challenges significantly mar the experience, particularly when you consider the...
Read moreI really did not enjoy my time here which was such a shame as a tourist looking forward to going out in Prague. The staff were very rude saying my friend wasn’t dressed smart enough to get inside multiple times. He was made to leave the entrance to change his trousers which were not up to their standard and then came back to them looking him up and down picking at his clothes and touching them disrespectfully until I started saying I had seen people inside in the exact same thing and a manager stepped forward and told the security dealing with us to let him in. This definitely seemed to apply more to tourists than anyone else as I could see much more casually dressed people had already been let in. My friend was then told it was mandatory to put his jumper in the cloakroom for a price or be kicked out which again once we started looking around noticed many people allowed to dance ect. with their jumper around their shoulders or waist so felt very targeted towards small groups of tourists who clearly didn’t seem to fit in to security as it was only him in our group asked as well and I was fine to walk right past them wearing mine. On top of this we were shouted at by a bartender after I pointed at the sink having just ordered an alcoholic drink asking wether I could also get a cup of tap water who started telling us to go away as he wouldn’t give us some under any circumstances and if I asked again he would have us removed. This felt massively unnecessary as he failed to calmly explain to us that they only offer bottled water (for some reason despite tap water being potable in prague?) which we had to figure out for ourselves having been screamed at with little understanding. I think the venue and music were adequate but the staff massively let down the entire experience and I do not recommend this highly to...
