The location for this hotel is very nice. It is very close to a large number of attractions in old town. The hotel is also right in the middle of a large number of nightlife venues.
The hotel room was okay, though there were many drawbacks. The hotel room does not have air conditioning. Meaning that it is very warm during the summer, making it hard to sleep early in the evening. Thankfully, you can open the doors and windows to let it cool down. There were 2 tower fans provided (one per room), but they don't move much air. The biggest issue with opening the doors and windows is the Duplex Club, which has LED screens that are always changing, saying that the dance club is open. This lights up the room horribly. The club is open until 6 am. every day, including where the pillows are. You also have people down below smoking all sorts of things. This comes up and makes the room smell like this. This room would probably be fantastic in the late fall to early spring when it is cool/cold outside.
The room I had (205) also had a messed up entry door, and it was unable to be locked from inside. It did close and lock, just not the security lock. The shower also sprays a large amount outside of the shower. It also goes from warm to cool (not cold) to hot to warm over and over throughout your shower.
The mattress was extremely firm to the point of being hard. The pillows were nice, though if you were trying to sleep 4 people, you only have a single pillow each. You are also sharing the equivalent of a double or queen bed. With separate covers made for a twin bed.
Another thing to note it that once you get above the ground floor, there are 2 elevators, but one one does to the ground floor. This can mess people up and also something to keep in mind if you are there as a group and going between floors.
Overall, I was not thrilled with the room but a lot of that had to do with the lack of cooling and the fact that when I tried to cool the place I had the noise from the street the smoke from people smoking below the balconies and the lights from the dance club across the way. Though the dance club was not loud, thankfully.
I would probably book this room again in the wintertime or if I was planning on coming here to party through the night. This room would also be kind of nice for a semi long term stay in the late fall to early spring. Since it is located in a...
Read morePrepaid for 2 nights in May for a superior 2-bedroom apartment when checking in. We could not find any aircon control and the first night was stuffy so we opened the window only to hear club music blaring from across the main street till 4:30am. I went downstairs to the night clerk asking how to operate the aircon only to be told there was no aircon despite the website and booking.com listing each room has aircon. We booked another hotel for the second night and checked out after the first night but Konstantin refused to refund the unused prepaid second night saying there is aircon and that the night guy didn't know what he was talking about. He insisted on showing me the aircon but when in the room he had difficulty finding the aircon control because there was none. Finally he tried turning on a switch outside the bathroom and a humming noise started that he claimed was the aircon from a narrow grate mounted high on the wall. I said I don't feel any air or coolness. He said it takes 1-2 hours.
First, if there is no aircon control, the hotel should list on your website it is central aircon (usually means they set the temperature high to save costs).
Second, due to lack of aircon control and the night guy saying there was no aircon, Konstantin should refund the second night as customer is always right given these circumstances.
Avoid staying here. On the plus side, breakfast area was spacious and food...
Read morePrague is worth a trip but this hotel definitely not worth the money.
The location of the hotel is very good. It is located almost directly in the center and only a few hundred meters away from all the attractions and sightseeing. The breakfast was OK, nothing special but sufficient to kill the hunger.
In Prague it isn't possible to pay with euros you need Czech crowns. However you can pay with credit card and they normally give you the regular exchange rate. This was everywhere the case except in this hotel. The Hotel Owner / Staff just made up their own exchange rate which was 10-15% higher than the regular course. Meaning instead of 100€/night you had to pay 115€/night. Of course they didn't say this before they billed you, they just asked if you want to pay in crowns or € and leave the rest up to you to find out. Also they offered to change € in crowns to the "best" conditions. We found out 5 min away there is a regular exchange with better rates.
Unfortunately the room was directly connected to another room in which a family stayed with kids. It was very loud and the guy at the reception didn't want to change our room. Additionally the room was very dirty. The towels brown as well as the curtain stained with some kind of fluids(?). The brush to "clean" your dishes was absolutely disgusting, the bathroom stained with other peoples hair as well as fungal in the corners ... i hope i can upload...
