Come dicono i locali, west is best. Sylvia e Lorenzo
At Full Moon House you really feel at home. The host Mostafa is attentive and helpful. It is important to him that guests feel safe and satisfied. I chose this property for the exceptional location right in front of the Nile River. The balcony is spacious and airy, and the view is breathtaking. The house is on the west bank. As the locals say, west is best, and I agree with them. The west bank is quieter than the more chaotic east bank. It is full of archaeological sites to visit such as the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut just to mention a few. The Full Moon House is 15 minutes from all the major sites. And Mostafa can arrange a private car for his guests. On the east bank there are the temples of Karnak and Luxor. We decided to reach them by boat and transport was organized by Mostafa. The Nile ride on the Felucca (typical sailing boat used on the river) was memorable and organized by the host. Another reason why we chose this structure was the possibility of having all the meals of the day brought directly to the apartment and consumed in the shade on the balcony. Even though I have celiac disease, I had no problems because for breakfast I ate eggs, yogurt, cheese, fruit and meat with rice for my main meals. The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. We slept very well. Our room was fantastic with a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room and opened directly onto the balcony, which is however available to all guests. The guys who work at Full Moon House (brothers Mahmoud and Mohamed) are so kind and helpful. We got everything we asked for. And we were accompanied on errands and the boat trips. If you want to get to know the real Egypt, interact with the locals, feel at home so far from home, skip the purely touristy hotels on the east bank and be welcomed at Full Moon House. You...
Read moreIt was the best hotel experience in Egypt. We couldn't have found a better place than the full moon house for our 4-day stay in Luxor. From the beginning we felt like we stay with the family. We planned to arrive in Luxor very late and asked Mostafa to wait for us to provide accommodation. Unfortunately the road from Safaga to Luxor was closed at 6 pm and we had to stay in Safaga overnight. But Mostafa was waiting our arrival up to 3 am sending messages to us which we received only next day. As promised we got parking place attached to the hotel where we kept our car safely. Mostafa, Mohammed and Mahmoud were the best - always available for help inside and outside the hotel. Mostafa helped us to book balloon ride, walked us and helped to buy the best coffee beans and many other times. The breakfast and dinner at full moon are superb with ability to select main dish. We usually started our daily trips earlier morning and asked for earlier breakfast (6:30 - 7 am) which always was provided. The great feature of this hotel is rooftop with amazing views of the Nile/West Bank. And finally our room was spacious, cozy, well-furnished and equipped with everything that is required to stay. If we return to Luxor, we’d definitely stay again at full moon house. Thank you for making our stay...
