sunset restaurant — Restaurant in Al Baairat Village

I stayed here through Airbnb for 4 days. Then even extended for more 4, but had to cancel due to my changing plans.

This place can beat all other places around in all senses. Price is affordable. Food is delicious, fresh and healthy. The apartment I stayed upstairs had everything you need even if you rent it for months, it's big, spacious, has kitchen, washing machine, wifi. The key point of the place it is super clean and smells good. And this is rare thing in Egypt. And most of all what I appreciated is the hospitality of Hussein's family. They are caring and kind, at the same time they are not nosy, and respected my privacy, this is also rare in Egypt. They never tried to sell me anything. I felt safe and relaxed. Which is perfect balance in contrast when you step out to streets and will be bombardered by locals.

Also highly recommend Ahmed, friend of Hussein who is excellent taxi driver, very helpful, kind and also gentle.

Hussein picked me up from the Go bus station in Luxor and welcome me warmly in his home with his whole family.i directly felt at home. I stayed 3 days only but I had a wonderful time there and the food in the restaurant was always delicious and much. I had Oriental breakfast, chicken curry,fish filet and shish kebab. This place is very close to the Nile where you can find bars or other restaurants or boats who bring you luxor City Eastbank.The Restaurant is simple but nice made in oriental style and nice paintings. We came one first evening on the advice of the owner of the house where we were renting. We ordered a shish kebab, a kebab, fried fish all accompanied by some excellent hot and crispy fries.The second night we decided to come back. The restaurant was almost full and when we asked for a kebab they said that unfortunately they didn't have much time to prepare it and when we asked them if we could barbecue it they said they weren't problems (needless to say the quality of the meat).Then as italians we took the “risk” of ordering pizza, it was very good .
