My daughter and I had a terrible experience on our first night in a "hotel" in Giza so were in a rush to find an affordable place in the middle of Cairo. Garden Season is hard to find and in a pretty worn building, but we were at a breaking point so took a chance with it anyway - and so glad we did! The reception area (3rd floor) and hotel/small restaurant (4th floor) is although small, gorgeous and well maintained. Same goes to the rooms - well equipped (WiFi, kettle, towels, hot water - pretty much everything we didn't have in our first "hotel"), comfortable and clean. We even had a bath, which my daughter loved! The manager Kareem was so helpful when it came to ordering uber (my Arabic is non-existent, and WiFi isn't in range downstairs), he came down to make sure we are picked up and waited for it with us - turns out he even paid for it, which I only realised later as the driver was reluctant to take my money (which is the exact opposite of general mentality and behaviour in Cario.). The receptionist Mr Mustafa have gone above an beyond for us, making sure we are fine even on the day we spent in Luxor he WhatsApped to check on us. And let me not get started on Ahmed the bar man! He makes the best frappucino, waffles and smoothie in Cairo! The restaurant offers a variety of western-like foods (chicken, chips, spag-bol... etc) which is great when you travel with fussy kids who are reluctant to try local dishes. All in all, we had a great experience here, and if we ever visit Cairo again, we'll definitely be...
Read moreIt s a 2 stars hotel so don't expect more than what you paid for.
For the price, location is great as it s 15 mns walk from the center and its museum.
Rooms are once again what you can expect for a 2 stars hôtel but for us, young couple, it was good enough.
Here you will save some money but the value stay ok so you can spend more on activities.
We had a misunderstanding with a shuttle that should have picked us up at the airport. When we arrive at the hotel by our own means the staff and especially Amr did an excellent job finding a solution for our transport back to the airport when we left.
Summary :
Pros:
Staff is awesome. Special big up to Amr at the reception and Ahmed in the restaurant. Location is quiet and safe enough and close to the center. Small restaurant to have breakfast (included) , lunch and dinner (nothing special though, basic stuff) Atm right around the corner
Cons :
Lack of shop and restaurant nearby (business district) Entrance might be a bit hard to spot but staff saw us on the video cam a'd came downstairs (hotel is actually on the 3rd floor).
Once again big thanks to Amr...
Read moreLocated in the city center, walking distance to Tahrir square and an Uber ride to everywhere else. Compared to the market, this place offers a decent deal. The hotel entrance could be misleading, especially when we arrived at midnight it looks like an abandoned building. The hotel itself is okay. Room is clean, very small but has all the basics. I appreciate that despite the small room but the bathroom is not too small like many other budget hotel. Bathroom has decent size and is clean. The staffs are young, super friendly and kind. If it weren't for them I would give the property less stars. Breakfast isn't great and we...
