Stayed here for two nights in room 204 in October. After booking, Mr Sayed the owner got in touch and insisted on picking me up from the station and said it was fine to check in even though I'd be arriving early in the morning. Mr Sayed did indeed pick up myself and four other guests from the train station. In my entire stay in Egypt, I never once got the famed Arab welcome. Until I arrived at the hostel, that is. Mr Sayed was everything I've read about the famous Arab hospitality, kind, courteous and welcoming. The room I got was a four bed dorm of single beds. My room had a ceiling fan and only one electrical socket. There's no lockers in the room and no easy way to chain your bags to something immovable. There is one key to lock the room. It's a bit scary leaving your belongings like that. I did take my passport with me, but everything was safe. Although the weather was hot, the fan kept the room temperature cool enough to sleep easily. Great considering I'm not someone who tolerates heat easily. The mattress was a Asian style firm mattress and very comfortable for me. I was on the first floor and there were two shared bathrooms, both clean. There's both hot and cold water. Not quite a Western style power shower, but good water flow and perfectly fine for showering. The rooms, bathrooms and the guest floors of the house are all kept clean and tidy. The staff actually clean several times a day. The hostel has a kitchen and dining tables. I never cooked there, but out looked like everything needed was there. There's WiFi in the hostel and general works fine. It works well for general surfing, but does seem to cut out intermittently (hey, it's Egypt). Something which was not a problem for me as I only need to do basic things. There's a simple breakfast every morning. Rolls with various options for spreads including jam, feta and Dairy lea, an omelette plus a choice of tea or coffee. Overall, I had an excellent stay. The facilities are definitely rustic, especially the bathroom. The facilities, the cleanliness, the comfort, the breakfast, the price and the welcome made the stay great value for money.

This place can easily make the worst experience i had in a hotel my entire life. Bedrooms were not cleaned at all, there was hair everywhere from previous guests and dust on bed sheets. Room walls had severe damp conditions making it hard to breathe. There was no sound insulation in this place I could hear people chatting downstairs and i was in my room in the third floor! Toilet seat wasn't clean as well, literally when i wiped it with toilet paper it came out with black stain that was gross. It was impossible to socialise with any other travellers since the place doesnt have a common room where we all can meet.

Bob Marley House Sherief Hotel offers a very basic stay in Luxor. While the owner has a somewhat cold or laid-back attitude, he’s actually quite helpful and willing to assist when needed, which was appreciated. However, the facilities were extremely underwhelming — closer to a guesthouse or very low-end hostel. The rooms felt neglected, the cleanliness was questionable, and overall comfort was lacking. It may suit extreme budget travelers, but if you're expecting anything more than the bare minimum, this place will likely disappoint. A 2-star experience at best.

Hands down, this hostel gets 10 solid gold bright stars! Everything from the location, the vibes, room space - very comfortable and safe. The facilities were good and AC worked wonderfully! Luxor was my first destination in Egypt and Mohammed went out and beyond to make sure my trip would be unforgettable and adventurous. Mohammed suggested and arranged the best and most faired priced tours for me. He did more than I could of ever asked - Mohammed truly cares and wants you to experience Luxor the right and most adventurous ways. He even took the time to make sure I was booked for a hot air balloon- even when most services were either overpricing me or just not available. I saw that as beyond excellent service but instead a true and caring guy with a good heart. As a solo female traveler, I never felt unsafe or pushed to sign up for anything. Mohammed is true in what he speaks and offers - his knowledge and passion for showing me around the city is something I will always be grateful for. Because of him, my trip to Luxor was filled with all the right and best adventures. He is a good friend and I can't thank him and the entire Bob Marley hostel team for making my first trip to Egypt an admirable one. From all the hostels I've stayed in around the world, Mohammed and his team makes Bob Marley house number one on my list. Stay here - you will learn and make inspiring friends with the entire house. Thank you again for everything, I look forward...
