Service not that great. I said I’d like a glass of champagne and pointed on the menu to the staff I wanted the 12euros “champagne” aka sparkling wine as the champagne and sparkling wine are on the same page of the menu. Female staff poured the 20euros one and said this is champagne….🤷🏻‍♀️ yes… I’m aware of what champagne and sparkling wine is, but instead of asking for clarification after I pointed on ordering the sparkling wine, female staff just went to pour the champagne. Also there were two, maybe three, staff working. One female staff seemed to be the one taking order at the cashier. As I waited in line, the female staff made a mess on the counter and was cleaning up. The male staff was just standing around in the back, doing nothing, didn’t help her cleaning or help me take my order and I was just standing there… female staff only acknowledged me as she probably sensed my frustration and said “I need to clean this up first”. Yes… I have no problem of you cleaning up if you had shown acknowledgment right away and not just left me standing over the counter waiting waiting and waiting. Cocktails were excellent. Views also as expected from pre-rennovation times. Service was unfriendly and slow (even though there was a line of people staff didnt clear tables and people sat down with other people's waste in front of them - WOW. The worst (and exerpience destroying act) was, however, the Macaron we ordered. It was delivered without creativity rolling arround on a large plate dropped onto the table by staff. Later (there was no price shown anywhere) we learned that a SINGLE MACARON (not even freshly made) costs 12 euros. Upon leaving I queried whether there was a mistake on the bill - it was not. Upon asking whether this price could be considered out of proportion for what one gets - the staff answered "This is Torni". Well if Torni is equal to an old Macaron rolling around on a large plate with no style then no thank you. I really do not need Torni in my life... Perhaps like myself you go there with high expecatations - save yourself from the disappointment and take your business...

The highlight of my night and honestly, one of the highlights of my trip… was meeting Noora and Roosa, two incredible bartenders at Ateljee Bar at Hotel Torni. They weren’t just skilled mixologists; they brought warmth, kindness, and personality to the experience that made this more than just a great view. Their friendly energy completely elevated the atmosphere.

The bar itself is stunning, perched about 70 meters up, it’s the tallest rooftop in central Helsinki. I’m visiting from Arizona in the U.S., and I was lucky enough to be up there for an 11 PM summer sunset and a full moon rise happening at the same time. Truly surreal. Because the city is so flat, this bar offers a perspective you won’t find anywhere else.
