I don’t write reviews usually but I had to issue a warning to save you from this unhygienic cesspit that has invested more money in its logo and tote bags than in cleanliness. This is the worst customer service and hotel I have experienced let alone paid several hundred for the privilege of experiencing. It’s FILTHY and we had a HUGE silverfish problem in our room as well as BROKEN GLASS all over the bathroom floor when I arrived so I cut my foot - and I still have glass stuck in my foot! ||We arrived about 1am after booking the hotel at 11pm that night (spontaneous trip to Paris, my mistake). When we arrive the guy at check-in says you can’t stay here you missed the check in - you had to be here before midnight… A) I’ve never heard of a hotel policy like this before; B) why would they let us book it just before midnight if this was the policy — we’d booked just 2 hours before arriving? The man said we couldn’t stay there as the system now wouldn’t let us check in. Right, so we’ve arrived in Paris, paid for two nights at a hotel, and now have to try and find somewhere else to stay or sleep in our car? The man working simply shrugged and said I’m sorry it’s the system.|| 1 hour later and we’d managed to convince him to call his boss, eventually given a room thank god… I ignore the fact that it’s matchbox size (that’s excusable in Paris) and vaguely smells of a cadaver, step into the toilet, and lo and behold: searing pain from foot and my blood is on the floor. Glass on the floor. Now glass in my foot. Eventually fall asleep and wake up very itchy which is worrying. Horrid cheap pillows also. Next up: Giant silverfish in the bedroom. I don’t mind bugs and hate killing them. But there was one silverfish that was the Terminator of Silverfish. It was almost bigger than the bedroom! Even the silverfish were more animated, however, than the person working at reception when we told him about the problems — because, as before, the man simply shrugged and said ‘sorry, that’s it - nothing I can do about it.’ I aspire to be the level of not-caring-about-anyone that this guy working at reception is at. I could’ve told him we found a dead body in the closet and he’d have shrugged and said sorry nothing he could do. If I’d wanted someone to shrug and say sorry kiddo he can do nothing for me, carry on living in squalor, I’d have asked my dad. || If you stay here, good luck. My advice: find somewhere with a less sexy logo. I reckon it will have fewer...
Read moreMy mom and I absolutely loved our stay.
The room, while small, is perfect for your stay in Paris. I slept like a baby in the soft, comfortable bed (the mattress and pillows are high quality and so are the linens). It is light and airy, well decorated and pleasant to stay in by all means.
We loved the attention to detail with the welcome note, the branded mugs, decor and I made good use of the working desk too. The view is very pretty, loved having the balcony space. In the Summer, Paris is VERY hot and it was amazing to come home to a nice and cold room thanks to the well functioning air-conditioner.
I found the bathroom to be clean and comfortable to use. The shower pressure was great and everything worked well. My only recommendation here would be to include a proper shower door, to prevent water escaping the shower.
The location was absolutely perfect for finding great breakfast, lunch and dinner spots. Seriously, loved that it is so close to so many amazing cafes, bakeries and restaurants. It is also a short walk away to Norte Dame which was incredible, and close to the Toot Bus stop and other transportation areas (buses, tube). We explored Paris quite a bit, but nowhere was quite as charming to me as Saint Germain De Pres was - it is perfect in every way in this area.
Also worth noting is that at all the cafes, restaurants, transportation spots etc - all the people we chatted to in this area were so super friendly, helpful and kind - everyone spoke English too which was a big help.
Lastly worth mentioning, is the wonderful staff at Hotel Petit Belloy. Thank you so much to your team for making our stay so enjoyable, we felt safe and supported every step of the way - a special shout out to Deborah for all of your help. I did not formally meet the two gentlemen we saw and spoke to, but they were just as lovely.
Overall, 10/10 recommend that you stay in this petit hotel if you’re looking for a perfect mix of comfort and culture in the beautiful city of Paris. So happy to have stayed here for our first time in Paris ever!!
(One critique is that I agree with other reviews mentioning cleaning the carpets, a spruce up would make a big difference in the feel of the hotel but this did not bother us in the slightest. We honestly loved our stay and will 100% stay here again next...
Read moreA perfect hotel for a short break in Paris. We had booked to stay elsewhere but the booking was cancelled at short notice without us being informed. Thankfully I noticed this a week before travel and so we booked le Petit Belloy and I am so glad we did! The location, close to Place St Michel, just off the boulevard of the same name and near a number of metro stops, is both central and fairly quiet. The staff are fantastic! Friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in what you plan to do in Paris and whether they can help with anything (they offered to book restaurants, help us with evening activities and the like but I like to plan ahead so this was mostly covered). The rooms are lovely and the beds comfortable. The bathroom is a little tired, but very clean. The one downside is that as the name suggests everything here is small... So it's best as a stop for a long weekend or midweek break. We travelled for a week and found little room for luggage etc. Nonetheless we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and are already...
