The Restaurant That Saved My Marriage . Excellent traditional old school French dishes that were simply amazing in both quality and presentation. The staff were very welcoming, friendly , and consummately professional. The dishes are very wide ranging in terms of the type of cuisine ( oysters, fish , meat of all kinds ), with ala carte , program and daily specials all in the mix for your consideration. The bar is well stocked with a good range of excellent spirits , a veteran bartender who does both the classics and new house cocktails well . Wine list is well thought out with carefully chosen wines across many appellations, regions and styles with a lot of very good and affordable options across the price and ambition range . Overall an outstanding gem of a place within easy walking distance of the craziness of the main drag in Pigalle with none of the crowds. My partner and I are Americans visiting Paris for the first time. We got a recommendation from a local to try this place. The first night we went we were treated well, the food and service was good if not great even though we don’t speak much French. A few nights later we wanted to try takeout since their website says you can order online for takeout. We called to make sure, they said they don’t do orders over the phone so we had to come in to order. My partner went in the restaurant to place our takeout order, which they seemed a bit weird about (maybe they don’t often do takeout?). After placing the order he waited there for the food since it was unclear how long it would take. Then he noticed a group of 5 or so staff pointing and looking at him and saying “takeaway.” When he looked over at them, the guy smiled at him. There was obviously a language barrier so we could have misunderstood parts of what was going on; however, we did not feel as though we were being treated as paying customers. My partner felt that he was being made fun of and treated like a beggar.
