The food was really good considering the price-quality ratio of that area. We were however very unhappy with the service and the experience. A. We asked twice if we could be move to the tables outside as those were not anymore occupied nor reserved but the waiters said no with a reason I couldn't not even understand or sounded illogical to me, they claimed that we were almost finished eating. Any person with sound logic would have just agreed to our request, even if we should have order more drinks or food (we spent already over 100 euro in 4 persons, two of us were kids) we would have probably ordered coffee or digestive drinks to enjoy the seating outside. B. There was a 8 euro "supplement dessert" in our final bill which was clearly just an attempt to steal us money as we were tourists. Luckily we noticed that and they had to correct the bill. C. 1 liter of still water costs 6.20 €. We only asked one bottle of still water (no gas) and they brought us Vittel which, apparently, is worth 6.20 euro. How can water be so expensive? Any water? Next time I'll buy beer to our daughters, it's...
Read moreI had the salmon dish with the mashed sweet potatoes that were puréed to perfection. The salmon mixed with the balsamic vinegar glaze and lime well. The sour lime with the touches of the sweet balsamic glaze and powerful taste of the rosemary butter brought the dish together in all the best ways. The plating was artistic and I liked that most about it. My fiancé had the duck thigh with rosemary potatoes which was incredible, if you don’t try it with the sauce provided you’re missing out! It was fall-off-the-bone sweet meat that had you looking for more. The rosemary potatoes paired well with the sauce for the duck. For dessert we had a “chef’s choice” style and all were great except the cottage cheese with raspberry which I don’t recommend. It need just a little more sweetness to off set the tangy cottage cheese. The service was incredible and super accommodating even with our language difference and they were there in an Instant...
Read moreWalking down from Montmartre on the normal tourist route, rue Le Pec, we did not make the right turn at the T-intersection right before this restaurant. So glad we did! We had the Midi Express Menu for just 11.40 euro. The appetizer was a delicious coddled egg dish and we chose the salmon with mashed potatoes for the main course. The salmon was done perfectly and the potatoes delicious. Very nicely displayed and great, friendly service. The other choice for the main was fish and chips. I’m sure that would have been great too with the way the French do frites. The bad reviews below of over a year ago must have been under different management and with different servers! After lunch, we continued down rue des Abbesses and happened upon the Église Saint-Jean-de-Montmartre. This is a medium size church in a very unusual architectural style that is reminiscent of Arts and Crafts. Put that name into googlemaps...
