This little bijou has everything you need and nothing you don’t. We made the mistake of trying to squeeze three people into a deluxe (one of the corner ones with many exposures). I don’t recommend that. The deluxe rooms are little knockouts but they are not large. And the smaller rooms really are small. Check the metres when you book to set realistic expectations. I appreciate the finishes and details, the extra money and concern that was put in to make this more than an efficiency hotel (Serax cups, tinky champagne coupes, and Diptique Fleur de Peau). Also good quality fabrics, moldings, and bath marble. That said the towels are getting a bit tired. Guests are hard on a hotel, and that is showing a bit, I’m not saying it’s shabby, it’s not, some people may even like that, as a sign of efficiency? But they should take care not to let it get tired. I had the distinct feeling that I was in a hotel in its second or third year of business. It feels like a family hotel, rather than a corporate hotel, which I liked. Further advice to the hotel would be to keep a supply of earplugs for guests and possibly to leave them in every room on the Blvd side.
What this hotel offers, to distinguish it, is a proximity to the Tuileries, Champs, Garnier etc. with good taste and without the Vendome prices. I first read about this hotel on YOLO and I generally agree, but mind the price points, as it does get more €€€ in the peaky heights of summer and autumn. I think a good value for the deluxe room would be 300€, and bad value would be 500€. Also, it seems we paid a little more than I thought we would initially, this may be due to daily taxes or something like that.
My detailed score would be 4.35.
If this hotel is your price point ish, also check out the El Dorado, The Pigalle Experimental and the La Fondation, which is brand new. All in less ideal places for a Louvre aficionado but all a little bigger and with more amenities...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is great, and the staff are friendly. However, there were several serious issues during our stay:
Noise: The elevator was extremely noisy, broadcasting loud artistic conversations in French that disrupted the peaceful environment we needed as tourists.
Breakfast: The breakfast options were limited. They didn’t serve any type of eggs, and if you wanted them, you had to order from a separate menu at an additional cost.
Restocking Amenities: Complimentary items like tea, coffee, and tissues were not restocked regularly. Sometimes, we had to call reception to request them, and although they apologized and restocked, the same issue occurred again.
Housekeeping: Although the room was very clean, the management of cleaning and changing bed sheets was poor. Despite placing a “Do Not Disturb” sign, housekeeping entered our room. When we objected, they explained that they change sheets every three days, and that day was scheduled for a change!
Deposit Refund: At checkout, they did not release our deposit, citing IT problems. Despite multiple follow-ups, it took over a month to get our deposit back.
Safety: A fan fell from the bathroom ceiling while I was showering, which was...
Read moreWe did the mistake of booking a non refundable with the hotel as there aren no refundable option. The booking was more than three months in the future. Within three days of the booking we realized that we won’t be able to make our trip due to some unforeseen circumstances. We reached out to the hotel requesting them to cancel our booking and refund our money as they have plenty of time still left to be able to get another booking in our place. Even after multiple calls directly made by us and also made by booking.com on our behalf, the hotel didn’t budge and is too happy to practically steal our money.
I expect people in the service industry to be much more helpful and use common sense instead of following a policy like a robot. Sadly, that expectation is too much for this hotel and they won’t help us even when there is no loss to them.
The reception keeps telling me its not upto them but also cannot talk to management who has access.. how do i explain the sensible argument to people who review the request…
Very low and poor quality service than we...
