Decent hotel very close to the centre of Paris. Positives: The location of the hotel is very good, you can pretty much visit the various sites located in the centre of Paris on foot. The staff was very polite and friendly, In the room there was a coffee maker and free capsules to use. Negatives: This is an old building so, the elevator is small and the floors on hallways are squeaky. The room was OK, there was a small fridge a small oven and a few utensils. We didn't cook but we used it to warm up food. I think it could be a better option to go for a room without the kitchenette. In terms of cleanliness, it would be nice if it was cleaner. Unfortunately, in France it's not easy to find sparkling clean places. Overall a nice place, only a bit overpriced for what it offers in my opinion.

Really nice hotel. Very clean and with really helpful personnel. There was a noise issue coming from the adjacent building and they changed our room immediately to a very quiet one. Good blackout blinds block all light for uninterrupted sleep. No issue with hot water (which can often be a problem). Fantastic location very near to metro stations (Madeleine), cafes and restaurants.

The location of the hotel is great. Rooms: 2/5 Front desk: 5/5 Housekeeping: 4/5 Access: 4/5 Breakfast: 3/5

They are trying really hard to please you and to be very friendly - especially at the front desk. Eric their manager is a very nice man and knows how to make you happy and is trying his very best also to help and advice you.

However, they could do so much more out of this hotel...let me start with the lobby. Nice looking and refurbished. Currently they have still a semi construction site in their court yard and back room that will be super later on but still a construction site with boxes etc. The breakfast room is fine and breakfast very standard...service is friendly but not very professional I think. They grab semi finished plates away without even asking you if you are finished or they put orange juices on your table assuming you'll buy them.

When you go up to your room - first you have to climb a couple of steps to the elevator....when getting out of the elevator on your floor you think you are in an old building which is to a certain extend charming... They are refurbishing bedrooms. However, on the first view the rooms look nice. The longer you are looking you see that they are using cheap materials and builders are taking a lot of short cuts. Things have not been thought through e.g. when you turn on the AC it is blowing right in your face when you are lying in your bed which makes it impossible to sleep unless you want to sleep in a hurricane...small step right by the entrance is not helpful - dangerous for elder guests. Bathroom has a funny noise all night I first thought it is the blow dryer but I am not sure which electric appliance is doing all this noise.

House keeping is nice but not listening when we asked for a later check out at 12 and front desk agreed. House keeping just decided to take to luggage out and put it in the lobby without our consent. I thought that was strange.

Net net, the building is great, location great, front desk staff great - I am just not clear what this hotel wants to become - a 3 star (low level) or a 4 star but then it need a lot of improvements as they are...

Over the last three decades I have stayed at the Concortel on numerous business and family vacations. What I appreciate most are the location and friendly staff. ||I have always found the area safe and walkable day or night. The hotel is a couple of easy blocks to the Madeleine metro enabling access to the all of central Paris. Plus the hotel is a quick walk to Gare St Lazare (Normandy travel) and even our mobility compromised friend preferred not taking a taxi. There are many restaurants in the area so no need to venture far at night. ||What also struck me on this latest trip is how much I enjoy coming back to this less touristy area after an exhausting day of site seeing and crowds. ||Eric and Yannick are two of the most friendly hotel managers you could hope to meet anywhere and will go overboard to make your vacation or stay enjoyable. ||As far as the rooms, I find them comparable to any hotel rooms in Europe and similar in price to other central Paris rooms. We booked a small room for 5 nights and after checking in decided to upgrade to the superior. I also much prefer the character of the Concortel to the larger business hotels I have stayed at in Paris and other European cities. ||Hope to see you again Eric and Yannick!||Recommendations -Eric’s wife runs Village Madeleine restaurant (ask directions), Tradition Boulangerie...
