Horrific experience.
Please note I did not book an appointment but this does not excuse them for the poor customer service.
I arrived 15mins after store opening, hoping wait time was a lot shorter but this did not help. From the time of arrival to leaving the store with my purchase, the total time was 4 hours.
Upon my arrival, I was NOT told the wait time and it was communicated to me that if I were to leave the floor (bags/accessories) that I was risking the chance of losing my spot. As well, I was told that they had the bag I wanted (In which I stated: Classic Flap Medium in black calf skin with gold hardware) in stock, so I was very excited and keen to wait.
While waiting, I saw another customer with another SA (sales associate) being offered beverages (including champagne), as well was very friendly and accommodating to her clients, so I was looking forward to meeting my SA.
After 2 hours and 45mins of waiting, I finally met my SA named Aymeric and he did not offer any beverages and was very impatient and cold the whole time. I had asked for the bag I wanted (which again, was told that they had it in stock) and he had quickly replied that the Classic Flap Medium & Small was sold out all across Paris.
Aymeric was irritated at the very few questions I asked him (e.g. what wallets he had in stock) and when I asked him to repeat one of his questions to me he was also annoyed. When he had brought bags/accessories over I secretly wanted him to leave again, as his impatient attitude (as if I was a nuisance for even trying on the item or scanning the details) was making me very uncomfortable.
I ended up with my second choice, but note transaction wait time was another 30mins...
Only positive was that they let you wait inside (AC & seats available) and had free wifi (so perhaps bring your headphones so you can watch shows while you wait).
After this experience, I never want to go to another Chanel store in Paris ever again. I was only visiting the city for 5 days and I much rather spend the time eating lunch, exploring the city or going to a museum. My advice is to shop at CDG airport as they carried most of the luxury brands and there was no wait time. I can't guaranteed that they'll have stock but at least you won't have to wait almost 3 hours (or any time at all) only to hear that they don't have what you're...
Read moreThis was my first visit to this boutique. I usually shop at 31 Cambon and always have a wonderful experience there, but I wanted to see what stock this location carried. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing.
Our sales associate, Evelyn Vierin, was noticeably unfriendly and unhelpful. Every time we asked about an item, she immediately said “no” without checking availability on her device. We were four customers ready to purchase, not just browsing. As a client advisor in luxury retail myself, I understand what good service should look like , and this was far from it.
My friends ended up finding items on their own while Evelyn stood by. When she saw what they brought, she casually said “oh, we have it” in a dismissive tone. Throughout the two hours we were there, we found most of our own pieces, and each time she claimed it was the “last one” , until another associate later brought out the same items from the back. Despite her poor attitude, we still made a purchase totaling over €10,000. Even then, there was no warmth, professionalism, or appreciation.
Additionally, the queue system was disorganized. There was no clear direction where the line began or ended. Guests who arrived after us were assisted first, while we waited without acknowledgment until we approached someone ourselves. Only then were we properly added to the iPad queue, wasting unnecessary time.
Overall, this was my worst Chanel experience in Paris. Evelyn’s attitude and lack of effort do not reflect the brand’s standards. I hope management addresses this, as the service here seriously diminishes the...
Read moreI heard about the horrible customer service at Chanel stores but today was my first time experiencing it.
Knowing about the huge lines in Paris stores I booked an appointment online a month in advance, for the week following the new collection drop. In the store I checked in by saying that I'd love to see the small bags from the new collection and was led to the second floor. I had a time to walk around and saw that some customers were looking at the mini bags I was interested in which were not on the floor display.
After few more minutes the young man Charles greeted me and asked what I'd like to see. What happened next I still cannot believe in. While I was looking straight into his eyes answering the question, he looked me up and down in the most disturbing way possibly without any shame. Then said that they don't have any small bags other than on the display. I knew it was a lie right away since I just saw them being presented to the customers. It this point I was so disturbed and just wanted to leave so I said that I'll come next time. I saw him laughing while I was leaving!
What a shame that the great Chanel brand cannot manage it's in store employees. Such a shameful behavior from the people with napoleon complex leave a very bad aftertaste for the customers.
I didn't give up on Chanel and had the most wonderful walk-in experience at the Rue Royale store.
I wish the store manager can give Charles a lesson in the...
