We boooked through booking.com for a 2 nights in this off the Champs Elysees place (5 minutes walk). Ring the doorbell and were greeted by a lady who said sorry I don't have a mask, I don't have covid (she could be asymptomatic), we were wearing ours.|Upon entering the front door the lobby is beautiful, red drapes, very clean and cozy.|We were shown to our room with a large double bed, spotlessly clean with a little table and 2 chairs (for breakfast). It was a tad cooler than in the corridor (1 degree or so) and the lady said don't open the windows to keep the cool in. I said do you have a fan as the 2 days we were in it was predicted up to 41 degrees in Paris. She looked at us horrified and said, no and the planet is being killed as it is (well in that case you remove the TV, plugged and 3 lampshades in the bedroom and the hairdryer in the bathroom!)|She asked us where we came from and we said London, to that she replied are you supposed to be here? A bit surprised we replied of course! There's no restrictions for us travelling and we observe self distancing.|She said I don't know how much you paid but you must have got a good deal because these rooms are going for a minimum of 200e a night and you must have paid next to nothing (she knew perfectly how much we paid because she had our booking in front of her paid for!).|So the first night we open the windows and barely slept because it was too hot in the room despite being cooler outside and the 2nd night even hotter and got bitten to death by mosquitoes!|Breakfast was lovely with strong coffee, croissants, fresh baguette, butter, jam, yoghurt and fresh juice. They don't have lactose free milk.|All in all we felt like we should be lucky...
Read moreThe decision to stay in this place was the best one in my trip to Paris. Let's start with the incredibly convenient location of the hotel. There is a grocery store right in front of the hotel, the Arc de Triomphe is just a 7-minute walk away, the Eiffel Tower is 15 minutes away, and the Champs-Elysees is 5 minutes away. Let's move on to the hotel itself. The rooms are located in one of the old houses in Paris, and the apartments belong to the same family for seven generations, if I remember correctly (in the lobby you can see their family photos from different years, it is very interesting). The idea of the owners of the hotel is to convey an authentic French atmosphere through the decor, antique furniture, and they succeed. Despite the fact that the emphasis in the hotel is on antiquity, the rooms are furnished with new furniture, the bathrooms are fully equipped with new modern amenities . Breakfast is served in a separate, incredibly atmospheric and beautiful room with several tables and consists of yogurt, croissant, juice, coffee, baguette, butter, jam, a real French breakfast! I am absolutely in love with this place and charmed by its kind hosts. My advice to you - if you have the opportunity to stay in this place, book...
Read moreCheck in isn’t until 5pm which is late for a hotel. However, you can’t even drop off your bags! I had to lay 5€ per bag to leave at a different hotel. I had to pay the day I arrived and the day I checked out. There’s not a front desk at all. I couldn’t even get into the building after 5pm on my check in day. I had to call and heard people yelling at each other and then they hung up. After ringing all the door bells to get in & bothering neighbors, an old man finally opened the door for us. He said he doesn’t work for the hotel & that he’s just a neighbor but that the hotel people were out (on a Friday in Paris!) and he would give us our key. Turns out he already gave away our room so he put us in a different one. There’s nobody there to help you if you need anything. Zero hospitality. Besides the older gentleman neighbor, I only saw one staff member and it was the women who serves breakfast. Breakfast is just oj, coffee, croissants and yogurt. No room cleaning. The rooms are okay - comfy beds and nice towels but very creaky and thin walls. This hotel is absolutely not worth the price. I wouldn’t return and honestly regret...
