On arrival at this hotel the receptionist wanted to change our booking with our original booking company, I’m guessing so that they could make more money out of it, not really the ethical thing to do. But, when I couldn’t work out what she was suggesting, she raised her voice at me and the whole experience was unpleasant. The manager came to the rescue and explained more simply what was happening and calmed down the situation. Apart from this initial strange encounter, we really enjoyed this hotel, the location is perfect, walking distance to most of the important sites and loads of restaurants around every corner, yet still manages to be quiet😊 The view from our balcony looking out over Tbilisi was stunning, particularly at night. Had read the breakfast described as “superb”….h’m our description was “interesting”….perhaps signs identifying the dishes would be helpful. The breakfast attendant, sorry didn’t get her name, was delightful as were the rest of the staff, with the exception of the receptionist from the first day, who we didn’t see again during our 4 night stay! While our bed was very comfortable, we don’t think it was king size, more of a queen size with wooden bits attached on the outside to make it appear larger and of course with edges to walk into….which we did daily!! This hotel was booked by a tour company and I was very happy with their choice. The staff provided a warm welcome and, as we arrived in heavy rain, assisted with our luggage which was taken to our rooms. The location is excellent, just 5 minutes from Liberation Square, with restaurants, bars, currency exchange and convenience stores on the doorstep. English speaking staff can provide recommendations and directions. |The accommodation was warm and cosy on the rainy night and air conditioned when the warm weather returned. The bed was large and comfortable, there was a fridge, tea tray and a place to store a suitcase. However, I didn’t use the safe because it was high up in a dark area and I couldn’t see the instructions or easily reach the key pad. The shower room was modern and had plenty of hot water of a good pressure. Large fixed bottles of Dove toiletries are a welcome addition and avoid plastic waste. |The quality and variety of the breakfast were excellent. It doesn’t start until 08.00 so you need to get your belongings together beforehand if you have an early start. |I’d stay here again...
