Sheni Hostel — Hotel in Tbilisi

The host, Gaga, is a liar. We’ve booked a room a month and a half ago. When we came, the host said that our room wasn’t available because the people who were living there before had decided to stay longer. So he asked us to wait for 40 min and promised to offer us a better room in a different hostel. Then he said that another problem occurred and offered us to go to his friend’s hotel (in spite of fhe fact that the hotel costs ‘much more’, he promised to arrange everything for the price we’ve booked a room in Sheni Hostel). When we came to his friend’s hotel, we got a room, we were dreadfully tired, exhausted and the only willing was to take a shower and just relax. So Gaga left us after we cancelled the booking in Sheni Hostel and gave him money (120 GEL). We went to the bathroom and were shocked by the condition of the bathroom, it was horribly dirty, mould on the wall and in the bath. It was a surprise but(!) when smb switches on the water in the kitchen the water disappears from the bathroom, so it’s impossible to take a shower! After it we required our money back, Gaga’s behavior was like a guy, a Russian gangster from the 90’s, he didn’t agree to return our money, after 40 min he returned the money except the price for 1 night (cz we used a bath and towels), but we stayed there for 1h and a half. Smells not so good at the entrance inside the place and on the stairs to the second floor. However, it is relatively a good price for the room since it's pretty close to the center, there is a shared kitchen inside the hostel in case you want to cook and there's also a washing machine, which you can use to wash the clothes for additional five lari. Everything was just a little dirty, but it is possible to live there, if you aren't picky. The towels did not smell good but seemed to be clean. I had a little hostile vibe from the Russian residents, but I wasn't inside the hostel most of the time, so it didn't bother me that much. Some guests may be a little noisy around midnight, but we aren't talking drunk of wine people...

We stayed in this hostel for one night only, and experience was not so bad, but also not so good. ||||It is average hostel not in the city centre, and a bit far from the metro station. ||||Hostel is in the newly constructed building and there is construction in neighborhood.||||Staff member was nice to us.||||If you think that you will sleep on bed, you have a mistake.
