Beautiful hotel with very tasteful interior and exceptionally nice staff (both receptionists and cleaning staff). We had a room in the middle category. Big room and bathroom with heated towel rack, a shower with two types of shower heads. We had a free bottle of wine and a selection of coffee and tea in the room as we arrived.
Very tasteful lighting (some areas were more pretty than functional, but I left feedback about it in the feedback forms), overall a nice room design.
My personal favorite is always having a kitchenette in the room. This came with a full size fridge (not American full-size, but European), a Nespresso machine (I would have preferred a more environmentally friendly option, but it is what it is), an electric kettle, a toaster (like a small panini maker) and a hot plate. Even better: there was a SHARP cutting knife.
Parking was right next to the hotel. Once you find the right street to access the parking lot, it isn't too bad to get there... but be advised to consider a small car - the city has very narrow streets.
If I was looking for things to complain about, it would be that we had a ground floor balcony right next to the entrance. We were a little on display, but to be fair, there wasn't all that much foot traffic and we spent most of the time out and about instead of the balcony.
Speaking of which: the city center is just a couple of walking minutes away. Everything is very walkable, there's cats everywhere (never on our balcony, though!), many bars and restaurants very close... but it was still far enough so you could get a good night's sleep. And if you slept in a little longer, there were not only curtains, but also proper shutters to keep the sun out.
Next time we're in Heraklion, we're definitely...

Pros:
Very professional and friendly receptionist. Very clean and tastefully furnished room. Comfortable bed. Comfortable pillow. Good coffee and tea. Air conditioning. Private parking next to the hotel.
Cons: The shower leaks heavily and the bathroom floods. Water comes out around the door. The shower is very small and difficult to use There is no soundproofing, you can hear absolutely everything from the hallway—slamming doors, conversations at reception. The windows don’t provide good soundproofing, you can hear everything from outside.
Conclusion: I wouldn’t stay here again solely because the shower can’t be used properly, which is crucial for a location near the beach. There needs to be a step where the doors close so that water doesn’t flood the entire bathroom and leak afterward. It’s no use having a beautiful room if I can't use what I need in it. As for the soundproofing, maybe a sturdier door would help for the comfort of the guests. Also, it's not your fault, but it's worth noting: it's very difficult to get here by car because the roads are extremely narrow. Appreciate your gesture with the...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay at Hotel Kipos during our time in Heraklion. The room was spacious, thoughtfully arranged, and tastefully decorated. One of the highlights was definitely the bed – large, extremely comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploring the city and surrounding areas. But what truly made our experience special was Giannis. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a genuine smile, positive energy, and an incredibly kind and helpful attitude. He went out of his way to provide fantastic recommendations for both restaurants and beaches, many of which we would have never discovered on our own. Every suggestion he gave us felt spot-on and helped us experience the best of Crete like a local. Giannis doesn’t just do his job – he clearly loves what he does and treats every guest with warmth and care, as if you were a friend. His hospitality added a personal and memorable touch to our stay. We would...
