Sunset Windmills Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

I recently stayed at this property due to its great location, clean and modern facilities. And both the reception lady and cleaning lady were very kind and responsive. However, I had a negative experience with the management of the guesthouse when they charged me a false damage claim without proper investigation or explanation. The door to the bathroom fell on its own during my stay, and they immediately sent a payment request of 800 euros without seeking external assistance or conducting a neutral investigation.

I reported the incident with photos, and the property and door guys insisted that the door was broken because someone pushed it really hard. However, if that were the case, other parts of the door, such as the doorknob or the part that hit the wall, would have also been broken. Moreover, if the hinge could be easily cracked by pushing, it indicates that the door was not properly installed.

When I tried to discuss the issue with the property management and the angry door guys (who didn't introduce themselves), they threatened me with calling the police and preventing me from leaving the island, showing a lack of understanding of civil vs. criminal cases. I felt the property should have sought external assistance for a fair and professional resolution on the cause of the damage, rather than letting me confront the guys who installed the door themselves.

This experience made me realize that if anything goes wrong at this property, you might not be heard, respected, or protected. If you still choose to stay here or have already made a reservation, I strongly recommend having travel insurance and performing a basic inspection of your room after check-in. However, don't expect disputes to be settled in a fair and professional manner. WOW! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Irene is an amazing host, super friendly & extremely helpful. It was an absolute pleasure staying here for 3 nights. (Originally staying for 2 nights). We were lucky enough to spend our third night on the top level, the balcony is just beautiful & spacious. The views are amazing from room 2 & 3. Location was perfect, restaurants at our feet, sunset at night, famous windmills across the road, shopping at our door step, old port was a 5 minute walk. We used the local bus, so it was handy & within 5 minutes walk. The rooms are spotlessly clean, a big thank you to Lena (house keeping, love the white soft towels) and thanks for helping us find our feet! You are a beautiful lady. The suites are clean, modern, functional & very secure. Thank you Irene & Lena you made our stay AMAZING....

I had an incredible stay at this place. Its location is ideal for Mykonos. Close to everything you need, and with a great restaurant just across the street. I stayed in two different rooms during my time here. All rooms have cozy balconies with an amazing view. The upper one is possibly one of the best in Mykonos town (as the name implies and the photos demonstrate).

The interior of the rooms is completely modern, comfortable and well designed with creative lighting. They're very spacious too. Everything was clean and the shower was perfect.

Finally, the manager was really friendly and kind, and the young woman who cleaned the room daily was very friendly as well!

To summarize I would totally recommend this place for anyone visiting Mykonos, and would not hesitate to return!!
