Hands down our favorite place we’ve stayed at on all of our travels. We had the best time at Oia Sunset Villas and highly recommend them!
From the moment we booked, they reached out to us immediately to confirm and provide additional information on the amenities, etc…
They arranged port / airport transfers for us, onsite car rental drop off / pick up and restaurant reservations.
Pavlos was my primary point of contact prior to arrival and was very responsive, professional and made sure everything we requested was taken care of.
Once we got there, the reception staff (Christopher and Eftiana) were very friendly and always available to answer any questions we had.
We stayed in the Topaz villa for our family of 4 (two younger kids). It was perfect for us. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable (AC worked great!) There were a few rest days where we just hung out and watched movies in the living room in the afternoons.
The views were amazing. We enjoyed watching the sunset from our front porch every evening and going on evening strolls around the area. Pictures don’t do it justice!
The location was great - less than 5 min drive into Oia village but without the hustle and bustle of being in Oia. There was a path to walk but we didn’t use it because it was easier to drive with our kids. There was a dedicated parking lot at Oia Villas so it was nice to be able to park comfortably whenever we came back for the day.
Our kids loved the pools. One was shallow enough to wade in and the other was about 5.5 feet deep. Temperature was a bit cold but manageable and when we got too cold we’d just hop into our hot tub.
Housekeeping cleaned every day and did a great job.
Washer worked well and there were hangers we could use to hang dry our clothes (and a drying rack on the back porch).
The full kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. It was a nice break from eating out all the time since by the time we got to Santorini we were already more than a week into our trip. The dining room (on lower level) had a 6 person dining table but we ate most of our meals on the front porch or back patio. There was practically a mini kitchen on the main level with dishes, cutlery, glasses, and a mini fridge which made it really easy to plate our food and go eat outside. There was also a grill on the back porch but we didn’t get a chance to use it.
If you didn’t want to cook or go out to eat, there was an option to order food delivery from their tablet (cash only) which was very convenient (and quick) and we used it on the last day. Plenty of variety (from gyros to pasta/pizzas to grilled fish / calamari, etc…)
There were also other nice little touches - Around sunset, Christopher came by each villa and gave us colored lanterns for our front porch. There was also a fire pit that they can turn on if it isn’t too windy.
Do note that the Villa is 3 levels with two sets of stairs so for younger children it may be difficult. Our kids were fine with them but I would think younger than 3 may be ...
Read moreWe booked this property to stay 3 nights and we had to checkout next day and find another property. Location is really bad as there is huge construction going on right in front of the villa, which we were not notified before, blocking the beautiful view. When we walked into the property, there was not a single place we could walk or touch without our feet and hands being covered in dust. My daughter woke up wheezing and coughing after sleeping in the loft first night because of the dust. No extra bedsheets or towels provided. This property is also too far from Oia main area, walking is impossible as it is all uphill. This property is in 3 levels, master bedroom in basement and loft in 3rd level, extremely inconvient if you are staying with family. WiFi doesn’t reach master bedroom in basement. No central air conditioning, property was extremely cold when we walked in, heater was not working, we had to call front desk and they had to fix it, we had to wait 2-3 hrs to get cozy. We ordered food from their iPad and they messed up our food order, we mentioned allergy information which they overlooked, they didn’t give us any refund for that too. Remember you have to pay cash for the food order, if you don’t have cash and if you can’t get out to eat, you will be fasting. While taking shower, hot water got completely cutoff, had to complete the shower with cold water in cold weather. We were told it’s municipality issue, if municipality issue then cold water shouldn’t come either. Hot tub doesn’t get hot enough, no towels were provided for hot tub, we had to ask extra towels next day. Usually any hotel you pay during checkout, but they charge full amount during checkin without showing property. This property is extremely overpriced even In the low season April 1st week they charged $1680 for 3 nights, no refund was provided even though we checked out next day. This property looks really serene from pictures but in reality so many issues. We had terrible experience one day we stayed and strongly discourage staying here. We are glad we made a wise decision to find another property, which is less than half price and in the main Oia area with spectacular views, for next two days so we are not ruining rest of our vacation, even though we lost our money...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Oia Sunset Villas and it was a great experience from start to finish. We began with a private transfer from the airport to the hotel that was arranged by the hotel. Upon our arrival, the hotel was amazing. It was huge, it was clean, and it was very modern. Amongst everything, it also had a full kitchen and a washing machine. The staff who we dealt with was Angelo and later it was Anna, they were both very pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel to the heart of Oia Village was close, about a 15 or so minute walk uphill to get there (remember, Santorini is a mountain), but walking back to the hotel was an easy downhill walk. ||||When we were there, the weather was brutally hot so we ended up doing less than we planned in Santorini, so we took advantage of our private pool in the afternoon so we could cool off and unwind as a family.||||Some people prefer to stay in the heart of Oia Village, but I tell you from personal experience that:||||1. Oia Village is exceptionally hot and crowded in the summer, and ||2. it is full of steps going up and down, and ||3. taxis/shuttles only take you just outside of the heart of the Village,||||so if you stay in the heart of Oia Village, you will have to carry your own luggage through this nightmare. But if you stay at Oia Sunset Villas, then the taxi/shuttle will drop you off at the steps of your own private villa. ||||Overall, I highly recommend Oia Sunset Villas, and if I ever return to Santorini I would most definitely...
