I stayed 5 nights in this wonderful hotel! The place is just like in the pictures, I loved how different it was and how close to everything. I was contacted by the loveliest front desk lady named Heydi and she was wonderful in helping me arrange my stay and transportation from the airport. The rooms were very clean, no AC but it was not needed that ceiling fan was great! There’s no mini fridge in the room which was a bummer but not a deal breaker for me. The beds were on the firm side but I had great night sleep. We only used the pool once because it was a bit chilly in Antigua but it was a great addition for my kids. The hotel offers discount vouchers for their restaurant which is located by the arc about 2 blocks away, food was good priced and yummy. There is a place called el barrio next door which has a bar that plays music until about midnight or so.. I read reviews that you needed earplugs but I didn’t find that being the case even though you do hear it in the room the noise was not overwhelming at all. In fact I highly recommend visiting el barrio lol loved that place! The staff is small in this hotel but they are so accommodating and nice people especially aura the cleaning lady and Alejandra another front desk. I loved this place and I highly recommend it. Our room was number 11 and the room next door #12 has epic views of...
Read moreAmazing location literally in the centre of Antigua - steps from the main Central Park. That’s the positive.
Bear in mind it’s right next door (and I mean literally adjoining) El Barrio and Lava Terrace (which is a great place by the way) so music plays until 1am - to be fair we were offered 2 rooms on arrival - a larger one next to reception on ground floor and a tiny room on the 1st floor which we opted for as it was quieter!! - however it was a squeeze for 2 people - but another plus the bed was comfy and the shower hot - (shower and toilet are in what used to be the wardrobes honestly!) So there is NO storage space! We spent little time in the room so didn’t complain but for the money it seems a bit tired and outdated, but it does have a cute traditional look (the pool was ok but has a lot of tiles missing so a bit of a potential hazard)
We did enjoy our stay and loved Antigua (and el Barrio where we went every night!! May as well enjoy the club or lay in bed listening to it 🤣🤣
Ps Room 9 which we stayed in was small but just bearable- if you are happy living out of your bags/ suitcase also the view of the Volcan de agua is amazing!! - just avoid Room 7 next to the club and reception and road 😅 ALSO- think the noise from the club varies between weekdays and weekends- if you are there Sunday - Wednesday...
Read moreOur family loved this hotel! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The shuttle service was easy to set up to and from the airport. I have read reviews about the beds being too hard- we actually prefer a firmer mattress and found them to be perfect! The hotel was SO clean!! It is in an extremely convenient location to Central Park and restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel felt super safe. The gate is kept closed most of the time with a button to buzz. The front desk is always staffed. We were dropped off late after attending a wedding and staff immediately opened the gate for us. The entire grounds are decorated so nice. The pool is a nice addition! I feel I do need to mention that yes, the bar next door unfortunately adds noise at no fault of the hotel but for our family, we were tired from travels and explorations, so we had no trouble falling asleep! Ask for a second story room if possible. The view from the balcony outside room 10 was breathtaking!! Perfect view of the volcano! The little ice cream shoppe next to the hotel was really good, too! I fell in love with Antigua City and hope to visit again! I would definitely choose this hotel again!! Thank you for a...
