Thank you to the staff at Las Cruces for being caring and wonderful hosts. I stayed for four nights including an unexpected extra night due to a serious bike accident. After being taken by ambulance to a hospital in Guatemala City, they offered to help me get a ride back to the hotel and assured me that someone was available 24/7 to assist me when I returned. I was surprised with Guatemalan worry dolls placed on my pillow. When they learned I hadn’t eaten since lunchtime the day of the accident, they provided me with an ample breakfast next morning. They offered assistance throughout my last day and evening. This was appreciated even more as a solo traveler.||I plan on staying at Las Cruces after I heal and return to finish my Guatemalan adventure.|| - Luxurious, spacious, and comfortable room and bed. L’occitane products, plenty of towels, slippers, safe… || - Excellent location that was close to the central square, museos and many restaurants|| -The staff was professional and courteous. They listen and intuitively react quickly. I had just got done speaking with the gentleman at the front desk about my hospital experience. He must have immediately told the kitchen to feed me well.|| - You feel like you are staying in a museum/art gallery. The hotel is like a mini Unesco site itself. There are church ruins behind the building which adds to the historical ambience.|| - Air conditioning, if that is your preference. I noticed many people complained about not having fans or ACs in reviews of other hotels.|| - Included Breakfast - delicious and filling every single day. They had a number of options for light to heavy eaters. Service was top notch.|| - Safe and secure. Extremely important for me as a solo traveler|| - Housekeeping and facility staff. They cleaned the room, reset the towels, and turned the bed without me ever seeing them. The staff maintaining the building and gardens were always hard at work keeping Las Cruces well cared for.|| - Gardens, sitting areas and rooftop terrace. Lovely, quiet, comfortable areas to get some respite from the hustle and bustle of my trip. I spent a day on the rooftop terrace with a view of a volcano resting from the accident. ||Again, muchas gracias to the staff. Looking forward to...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay at Las Cruces. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable as possible. They gave us delicious welcome drinks when we arrived, cleaned our room whenever we left, which was multiple times a day (clearly something that wasn’t necessary but very much appreciated and can be easily opted out by using the Do Not Disturb sign). We really enjoyed the breakfast here and always opted for the Guatemalan breakfast. This normally came w/ refried black beans, fried plantains, over easy eggs, some salsa and bread along w/ fresh fruit juice. It was always delicious and ordered it multiple days. We stayed in the master suite w/ the private patio and jacuzzi and it was always relaxing eating breakfast from our patio sipping on delicious French pressed coffee. The suite itself was beautiful w/ floor to ceiling windows, antique style decor, walk in closet and a beautiful bathroom w/ a large mosaic tile bath. They also use L’Occitane bath products which smelled awesome. The bed was very comfortable and the suite felt like home for the 5 days we were there. The location is in the center of Antigua so it’s the perfect location for exploring the town and always being a few blocks away from the hotel no matter where you were. Can’t recommend this...
