Great for a group trip, BEWARE if you have cat allergies and are sensitive to fragrances.
The good : The room was very spacious The property was quiet (we were on the top floor not facing the street) The location is fantastic The value is quiet great, especially considering location Upon arrival the rooms are quite clean. It was nice to have a kitchen, dining space and balcony.
The bad: The lobby had cats living inside, as someone who is allergic this made my stay quiet uncomfortable. The more enclosed room in our apartment gave me hives, I can only think this is because of the cats. I was also constantly stuffy, sneezing and itchy because of this. I would have never booked this apartment if I knew there were cats living in the building. The bedding and towels are washed with heavily scented detergent which made sleeping uncomfortable. Outdated information in the hostel. (the windows says up to 50 euros if you break window) Someone in my group accidentally broke a window while putting his shoes on and had to pay 70 euros to get it fixed. We had 2 "room cleanings", we were told to put our things into our bags so that the rooms could be cleaned. They only swapped out the towels, the room remained dusty the entire week. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine. We are unsure if it was the toilet itself or if the opening on the floor for plumbing was connected to the toilet. We kept it clean so we don't know why it smelled so poorly especially towards the end...
Read moreLocation is a 10/10. Staff at the reception is confused, lazy, untrustworthy and slow. Due to the wierd check in (without checking documents) metods we were escorted to the wrong room that was booked by another person with a different name. After complaints (from our side) we were escorted to another room that looked nothing like the room we booked online (based on pictures / completely different). Option of regulating the temperature in rooms based on your needs is not acceptable. There are no handles on the radiators or termostats so when we finally went to the reception looking for a solution we were welcomed with a call from the owner or the manager who was very rude over the phone and who basically said that our only option is to freeze on our stay. The whole hostel is cold as ice mind you! Everything was unclean and somewhat stinky. There were cockroaches in our unclean room upon our arrival. U can never find someone at the reception (in their working time), you have to make a call for someone to actually come. Or you can find staff locked in their office with a cat. Yes, a cat. I would not recomend that place to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. Very bad experience and everything...
Read moreWe travelled here as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 12.||The apartment was lovely and clean with enough amenities to get you through a short stay, such as towels, cafetiere, cups and hand wash.||We had a double bed with 2 single beds, table and chairs in the main room and in a separate room another three single beds. You can open the windows fully on the 7th floor to get plenty of fresh air. ||The shower had lovely hot water and was nice. Lidl is nearby or little bakery places for breakfast and plenty of eateries around.||We had a lovely view of St Stephen's basilica and the square.||Unfortunately that meant at night it got loud with crowds and on our last night we had the windows open as it was so hot but there were rowdy drunk English people - joy. ||The staff were really friendly and forgave my bad basic Hungarian, but I'm still glad I did a bit of Duolingo to at least try.||Be warned, the restaurants charge you taxes on top of your order which isn't service, so we were stung the first night unaware of this. ||Pals hostel and apartments was lovely and we were happy with the service and...
