Spent three nights at the apartments and can genuinely say it was like home from home.||||The apartment is incredibly well equipped with everything you need and more for a stay. It was very clean and tidy with minimalist IKEA furnishings.||||Loved the shower - invigorates you for a day in Iceland (and if you travel during a storm as we did, you need it!), and little touches throughout such as soap and body lotion in the bathroom, robes to wear out of the shower (towels are on the small side, you'll need the robes!) are what sets the apartments above others.||||They are tucked out of the way- some of the tour operators didn't know where it was, so we just said Black Pearl apartments and that helped.||||Less than five minutes' walk to bus stop 4, ten minutes to the supermarkets (turn left, keep the harbour on your right and follow the main road to a roundabout), and five minutes to a small square of eateries mean you're well located. ||||The beds are so comfortable that you'll not want to get out but there's so much to see and do you probably won't spend much time in the apartment!||||Underfloor heating was lovely although we found the bedroom a little warm at night (despite turning the temperature on the heating/cooling system down the underfloor heating kept the room very toasty!). You'll not freeze in these apartments, although you might outside!||||Thank you to Fridjon the general manager for a bottle of fizz to celebrate my wife's birthday (I mentioned it was the reason for our travel when booking), such a lovely touch.||||We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and thoroughly recommend...
Read moreWe were heading to Reykjavik for a stay during the Summer Solstice (read high season) time. But instead of paying for two hotel rooms we found that renting this apartment gave us a bigger, much more comfortable space for less cost. We had a large living room, two bedrooms, a big bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen/nook and a spacious balcony, all of which made for a very satisfying "home" to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, or a cozy hang-out when we merely wanted to rest. ||||Coffee and tea were thoughtfully provided, along with all necessary appliances and drawers of plates, utensils, cups and glasses. The steps-away bakery even made it easy to grab juices and pastries for our breakfasts. There are also bars and restaurants within the same city block. Indeed the location was convenient to the harbor and easily walkable to the Parliament, City Hall, the Harpa concert hall and Augavegur, the main shopping street. ||||We initially were concerned that the lack of a standard populated hotel reception area would be problematic, since there would be no one to answer our questions or provide us with on-site information. But the Harbour Apartments administration was a phone call away, and were transparent and clear about check-in and check-out instructions. Our only negative note was that we would have appreciated a couple more towels (there was only one hand towel, for instance) for our three-night stay. ||||Though we were a bit apprehensive about reserving this place for our Reykjavik visit, it turned into one of the best lodging choices of our entire month-long trek...
Read moreMyself, my wife and our 19 mnth old daughter stayed here during a long weekend in Iceland in Jan 2019. The apartment is amazing. Very spacious - 2 large bedrooms, large kitchen, large sitting area, great bathroom and a huge balcony also. The app was very well kitted out and had everything we needed for a family. It felt like home and we didn’t need anything of our own to make our stay more comfortable. The under floor heating was an added benefit. ||||Due to the cost of living in Rekyjavik, we chose an apartment to allow us to cook and make lunches etc. This was especially great for days out with a young child. ||||||The apartment is in a great location, minutes walks from the main city centre and shops, bars, restaurants etc. It was adjacent to the harbour and the many fish eateries there. There was also ample parking in close proximity. It also benefited from being close to se early pick up points for day tours. ||||A great apartment, perfect for families or 2 couples and very much recommended. The owners were great and set it up as we liked (I.e a cot for our daughter).||||Very much worth checking out should you require an apartment...
