Booked a Suite advertised on Agoda with photos. After check in found out that the advertisement photos were incorrect. (both parties denied any misleading advertisement however Agoda did clarify that monitering the website for accuracy was the responsibility of the Property.) Was moved into the room as per photos the next day after a check out.
Pros Location is perfect. It is near to most things yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle as well as noise of the city. Excellent views of Ulsor Lake. The property is not in the usual Radisson livery and color scheme which is refreshing.
Cons. Hygiene Standards in Food prep. ◇Found hair in the masala of my starter. From the condition it was evident it had fallen in pretty early during cooking. ◇Roshgulla a south indian desert famous for its moist soft texture and taste was hard and stale. ◇Pomegranate juice was not close to the color of fresh squeezed juice and was watered down. ◇Saw someone slip and fall in the kitchen which makes one wonder about the situation in there. Stained linen. Red, yellow and brown/black stains on linen. Clearly bodily fluids. Consistency There was no consistency in the taste of food repeated. The tastes changed for the worst. Variety at Breakfast. There was no variety at breakfast and after the 3rd day you'd get bored.
Staff Front Desk 8/10 Helpful and friendly however some seemed clueless as to situations with guests. Recieved 2 calls in 10 seconds with contradicting information and audible second staff taking over the call to mitigate the mistake.
Housekeeping 9/10 Josh (as per the message card) were precise, swift and skilled at their job. They also paid attention to detail and I was comfortable leaving my valuables around and leaving the room.
Spa 10/10 Skilled staff member and very knowledgeable about the products on the menu and could suggest treatments based on your ailments.
Gym ?/10 Was informed the trainer had taken am emergency leave however I did not see any temporary staff whilst I was there.
F&B 4/10 ◇Staff were clearly disinterested in service. During dinner most were standing around idly chitchatting with bored expressions. Only 3 could be seen active and paying attention to guest. ◇2 staff could be seen having a heated disagreement in front of guests which moved to another area in plain view before progressing into the kitchen with others being involved. ◇ Wrong items on bill. If you don't pay attention, you'd end up being over charged.
Pro tip. Choose floors on high level for unobstructed lake views. ( despite all rooms showing misleading photos of lake views, only the higher ones offer the same.)
If you face any issues, find Raj a managerial member of the Front Office Team. He has the professionalism and humility you would expect from an International Brand employee when dealing with complaints and resolutions. I had the unfortunate luck of dealing with someone who's body language, tone and ego made it seem like the hotel is doing me a favour of letting me stay despite the inconvenience caused to me due to misleading advertisement and whatever freebie/compensation offered was out of pity and not apology. ( compensation and inconvenience was not...
Read moreThe hotel is represented externally by the Radisson Group. This is not the hotel you know from Europe. In India, these mid-range hotels cater to the Indian crowd. This is noticeable by various peculiarities that are not pleasant for western foreigners.
First of all: The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Their behavior was, with few exceptions, excellent. I would actually give the staff 5 stars. The overall assessment, however, is different.
The restaurant is in a kind of atrium. Since the cuisine is almost exclusively Indian, its odors, mostly dominated by very strong spices, can be smelled throughout the hotel in the public areas. Clothing often takes on the smell and you have to change it afterwards. That's unnerving.
In the restaurant, background music is played so loudly at every meal that it gets on your nerves. If you ask to turn it down, it happens. However, you have to repeat it daily. Change or improvement is not often to be expected in a country very used to rules and traditions.
All problems are met with an obligatory "Sorry". Politeness and training take precedence, even if you have to lie. Development and personal responsibility always come second. Example: You order a lentil soup without spiciness. This will be brought within a few minutes. she is hot. The restaurant manager claims to have instructed otherwise. That turns out to be a lie. The menu describes how the soups are made in-house. Preparation times are even mentioned, which are often between 6 and 8 hours and more. So the soup was pre-prepared and not accidentally seasoned afterwards. lie before development. "Sorry" as an empty phrase. No development.
Unfortunately, there is constant loud noise throughout the night. These are obviously technical problems or work that has been carried out. In any case, these are dull, sometimes frequently consecutive or very strong loud impacts. They robbed me of my sleep 13 times out of 15 nights. I had to take strong sleeping pills as some of the noise would vibrate the walls of the room and transfer to the bed.
All attempts to trace the origin failed. In addition, there was no real interest among the senior staff. Problems are sat out. Some are even known but not admitted. Of course you have to know that in India you are used to noise, smells, bad air or dirt everywhere. Despite daily reminders, there is no clarification. It almost doesn't matter what the problem is. If it cannot be stopped immediately, it is forgotten, suppressed and not addressed again. You no longer contact the guest.
To compensate, I booked three 90-minute massages. The helped were done very professionally and very relaxing. Also for this part of the stay you can give a high score.
Despite the good price-performance ratio. Despite the service-oriented, friendly staff, despite cleaning staff who even cleaned under the beds (which is rare), the 16 days and 15 nights were tiring overall. Headache. Sleep disorders. Inability to resolve problems. Lastly, a stay without sleep can only be rated as bad. This was reinforced by the lack of hope for...
Read moreI recently stayed at Radisson Hotel City Center Bangalore and found it to be a comfortable and value-for-money experience. While there are a few areas that could use improvement, the hotel delivers well on the essentials and provides a satisfying stay, especially for business or short leisure trips. Best value for the money.
One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the staff. The team at Radisson truly stands out for their hospitality and professionalism. From the moment I checked in, the service was smooth, courteous, and consistent across departments. The front desk was prompt and efficient, housekeeping was responsive, and restaurant staff went the extra mile to ensure we were well taken care of. The warm and attentive attitude of the staff played a big part in making the stay enjoyable.
The in-house restaurant was another strong point. I had the chance to try both buffet and à la carte meals, and the food was genuinely impressive. Breakfast offered a wide variety of Indian and continental options, all fresh and well-prepared. Dinner was equally satisfying, with flavorful dishes and good portion sizes. The ambience was relaxed, and service at the restaurant was both attentive and unobtrusive. For a city business hotel, the culinary experience here is definitely above average.
The rooms were good for the value paid. They were reasonably spacious, functional, and well-suited for both work and relaxation. The beds were comfortable, the Wi-Fi reliable, and all basic amenities like a tea/coffee station, minibar, and work desk were in place. While the rooms aren’t ultra-luxurious, they deliver everything you’d expect at this price point, making it a sensible choice for those looking for a practical yet comfortable stay.
I also took time to visit the spa, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The spa facility was clean, well-maintained, and offered a good range of therapies and massages. The staff there were professional and ensured a calming, rejuvenating experience. It’s a nice addition for those who want to unwind after a long day or add a bit of relaxation to their stay.
That said, a few aspects need attention. General cleanliness in common areas such as hallways and elevators could be improved. While not a major issue, better upkeep would go a long way in elevating the overall feel of the property. The bathroom fittings in the rooms also need periodic maintenance. Some fixtures were slightly worn or loose, and the tiles could use deeper cleaning. These are minor issues, but for a hotel that positions itself as a 4-star property, such details matter.
In conclusion, Radisson Hotel City Center Bangalore offers a solid stay with excellent staff support, a great restaurant, and the added bonus of a relaxing spa. It’s a hotel that delivers on comfort and service, with room for improvement in maintenance and cleanliness. With some attention to these areas, it has the potential to provide a more polished and consistent...
