The welcome drink’s refreshing. The breakfast’s delicious. The host, Helen & Kobe’re genuine, friendly, kind, nice and warm. The host’s son, the little Komang’s very cute & adorable. The staff’re nice and helpful as well. The bedroom is clean & big, the bed is comfortable, the view is beautiful, the bathroom is big. The quality of the organic soaps for hair & body that they provided for guests’re very good which I love it so much! There’re no small fridge, safety box, hair dryer, telephone, TV inside the room but they’re happy to let you put your perishable items inside their fridge and provide you a hair dryer upon request. The pool is very small but they have a meditation place next to the pool which you can do meditation & yoga. Jalan Bisma’s road is bumpy and not really in good condition, so the location of the guesthouse may not that ideal if you are the type of persons that unable to walk a little bit & who want happening & crowded place, then you have to find somewhere else. However, if you don’t mind to walk a bit (walkable within 10 minutes you will reach Jln Raya Ubud & 15 minuets for Jln Monkey Forest), and if you like quieter & greenery place, then this is the place for you. I’m very happy with my stay. I’d recommend this place to my friends & families. Thank you Helen, Kobe, Komang & staff!...
Read moremetteyya guesthouse is in a great spot - super central on jalan bisma yet nice and quiet. everyone raves about the breakfast, and it really is amazing - probably the best a la carte breakfast we've ever had. they even accommodated a special request when i asked for a chicken soup for breakfast as i was a bit sick, great! the staff were friendly and helpful too.
unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. we booked the family suite with an outdoor kitchen and chill hut. the pictures online make the hut look super comfy, but in reality, there are only a couple of old and dirty pillows and it's just bare wood, so not exactly relaxing. the kitchen is also pretty bare-bones and not very well maintained. both the outdoor area and the room itself wasn't very clean and had a bit of a moldy smell. the bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable, and i usually sleep like a rock! to top it all off, the toilet was blocked on our first day and the pool looked uninviting - it wasn't really clean and there wasn't much space to hang out around it.
overall, metteyya guesthouse is okay, but we found much nicer places to stay nearby. it's a good option if location and breakfast are your top priorities, but be aware of the...
Read moreVery cute little hotel. We booked via Airbnb. The rooms are clean as well as the linen. It is a bit hard to find, but therefore really quite and cozy. The staff was very nice and helped us with our luggage. We had a shared balcony with seats outside.
There were only 2 minor complaints that I had, which are more recommendations for improvement:
The balcony is shared. The person from the neighbor room could easily walk over. A small wall or something to separate the balconies would be great
The ventilation in the bathroom was not so optimized, which cause slight mold to start and the bathroom stayed quite humid. A ventilation system would solve this issue.
Besides those two minor complaints everything was fine and great!
It is very close to all touristic attractions in Ubud. Within a 20 minute walk you can reach the monkey forest, the rice fields and the temple. We were quite happy...
