We booked a romantic dinner and I will highly recommend to NOT book any romantic dinners at this place !

In short, we booked a romantic dinner several weeks prior since we celebrated 25 years wedding anniversary so I wanted to make sure all is booked in time and according the plan. Fist of all , they required full payment to be able to reserve , which I did directly. However , they tried to charge us 3 times more than it should be charged , after I asked why and showed them that is not a normal price they charged other or are advertising , than they claimed to the "system did wrong". We also get to know from other , that they was only charged a minor deposit for the reservation , but for us they required full price ?!?!?! Very strange. What also happened, after our dinner , they tried again me to pay and just reduced romantic dinner price with "a deposit" which I mentioned to be paid already everything ... again, the system issues according them.

However , the worst what happened us was that when we come to the dinner, they bring us to an area which looks as a "top of a garage" there they put a table with some temporary chairs and no view. Only us there. They made the efforts to put some nice lighting and flowers formed heart on the floor which was nice. Actually the picture of the romantic dinner we booked looked much better than the reality , but since it was important moment and kind of too late to look any other options since it was already late evening, I tried to do my best of the situation. However , after some time I went to the toilet and explored the restaurant, then I find that our original place and the real romantic dinner place we booked , they give away to someone other who wanted to have romantic dinner that evening so they kind of "felt smart to improvise to make best for them". Really really bad way of not respecting customer!!!!!! The compensation offer they had was to maybe offer a drink (OMG).

To mention, the waiter who served us was nice and food was ok (however , for the price and importance of the good food experience for this occasion, much better other places you can find in the Ubud)

I usually do not write this kind of the feedback, but this time I felt soooo disappointed and felt important to share to other so you do not experience your important occasions with this kind of terrible...

My romantic dinner plan on Feb 11 was ruined after the sub-par food that was so undercooked, you can practically see from these pictures and that was not the worst. The food composition was so bad, even the chicken on cucumber appetiser still gives me the shivers when i uploaded this image. To make matters worst, My wife and i both had the Bali Belly the following day (we had not consumed breakfast and Lunch, mind you) and had the most horrid time towards the last few days of our Bali trip which lasted 2 weeks since we returned back to our country. To add, the so called "romantic view" is almost non-existent when the surrounding is almost fully covered by trees - one has to walk quite abit away from the dining area to view the skies but apart from that i don't understand what's romantic about the view. For the price we've both paid it does not justify any of this. The only reason why we decided to visit this restaurant was that it was nearer to the place we were staying. The restaurant doesn't give you any vibes except that its one of those restaurants that are attached with hotels and the only people visiting are hotel guests (there were a total of 4 families dining and it was a Sunday!)

I initially refrained from posting a review here while my wife did but after seeing the management's reply to her review, i just had to post it myself. Their reply was just ignorant. Some patrons may be already been "used" to the food hygiene in Bali, but that is not an excuse to serve food with this standards!.

The service was also equally bad- the waiters stand idly by but avoid eye contact towards you, and have trouble with simple requests like extra cutlery.

I'm sorry for the price paid, i expect a 5 star dinner. I will never recommend or visit this place ever again. I guess that's why the diners are mostly if not all, just...

A typical good "looking" restaurant with below average taste in food. Went here at night for dinner, nice ambience and would be nice in the day too i think, maybe nicer. The mains were less than average, we had the pasta and the eggplant dish and both were not that great, no flavour and small portions. With plenty of salt and pepper it was better but wouldnt spend this amount on food like this. Expensive and small portions and not even tasty. I dont mind spending that amount on tasty food but this was such a disappointment. The starters were ok, what i would expect, except tiny prawns, no complaints about the spring roll though, but not worth going to for the spring roll, just average. And the carrot cake was on the house because we didnt like the meal, and that was also average. I dont mind average food...but not for above avrrage price. And the mains being below average was just annoying when you know you're paying more than you would across the road and get better tasting food for less. Service was ok, very polite and asked how the food was, we were honest, and the manager thanked us for the feedback and offered a desert on the house to share. Being from London Id expect the main dish to be on the house if that was the dish in question. Oh i had the lost in monkey forest mocktail and that was very good! Actually yes if i were to go back for the ambience id get the mocktail again, thats worth spending and going there for. But i probably will go elsewhere where id...

TLDR: Good service, comfortable atmosphere, great drinks, food was okay for meat eaters, but disappointing if you are veggie/gf We came here for dinner tonight and had a mixed experience. I’ll start with the positive, the service: as you’d expect in Bali it was warm, friendly and very attentive. The space itself was clean, comfortable and well looked after too. The drinks we had were excellent as well, and the 2-4-1 happy hour is great value. The food was a mixed bag and didn’t blow us away. My partner is vegetarian and gluten free, and she ordered the roasted beetroot for her main. When the plate arrived it was quite bare - 90% beetroot with a few greens and cubes of cheese doused in vinegar. There wasn’t anything else to it like a filling base of mash/rice/greens to justify listing this as a “main” in the menu - maybe this one’s on us for not looking at the menu detailedly enough, but if something is listed as a main I expect it to be more filling. As a side or starter, it would’ve been okay. I had the ribs which were very flavourful, but laid on top of a papaya salad which had too much vinegar for my liking. The tres leches for dessert was good. Again, top stars to the staff for noticing my partner wasn’t wild on the beetroot and offering to remove it from the bill. The surprise amouse bouches were great too. I would come back if they expanded their gluten free offerings!

Unfortunately a little disappointing. I expected a little more from that restaurant in one of the most expensive resorts in Ubud. The location is somewhat hidden and remote and very nicely designed, also with the outside terrace. A very pleasant atmosphere. It should be said in advance that the service was really good and everyone really cared for everything so kindly. In advance there was spinach bread with a dip that didn't quite fit, the bread was also a bit dry and not particularly tasty. I had a spinach salad with seaweed and apple as a starter, because unfortunately the dressing and the composition of the ingredients didn't match at all plus I didn't find the roasted pecans. In the end I was not charged for the salad, which I found very nice. Thanks for that. For the main course I had balinese roasted duck leg with Indonesian spices and a very tasty sambal. The dish was not unusual now, but it tasted very good. For dessert, I had the Valrhona Chocolate Platter, which was really good, but unfortunately I had to eat everything very quickly, because in the evening the table was covered with little flies that gather on the terrace in the light, which was a bit ugly. I wouldn't recommend the Copper right now, but I still think it's a good restaurant if you go for lunch during the day and just enjoy the atmosphere.
