Just checked out – honestly, I’m relieved The hotel looks nice at first glance, and the breakfast we had on the second day was actually very tasty. But overall, the stay was stressful and not relaxing at all. Every day I received breakfast menus via WhatsApp and was expected to respond quickly. On our last day, I asked for breakfast at 7:30, but was told it was "fully booked" – even though I had received multiple reminders before. We ended up missing breakfast two out of three days, which was disappointing. What really bothered me was the constant WhatsApp messages – about cleaning, breakfast, insect treatment, etc. Even though I clearly said I didn’t want room cleaning, they kept asking. It felt more like being managed than being a guest. On the second day, we found a sign with many strict house rules in the room: no eating or drinking on the bed, damage = payment, etc. It made us feel uncomfortable and watched – especially since they also sent me a photo of a small ink stain on the bed via WhatsApp, although I never noticed making it. And in the bathroom, we found a huge caterpillar, which really scared my daughter. Staff removed it the next day, but still – not what you want to see in your shower. Summary: Great breakfast (if you manage to get it), but too much pressure, rules, and messaging. I didn’t feel at ease and wouldn’t stay here again.

Stay : 26 - 29 August 2022 Pros : - Staffs are friendly. Everyday they ask about our journey, and ensure that we had a great experience in Bali. - Location is at the central ubud. Really close to everywhere. - Breakfast is good. Everyday they'll ask you what do you want : white rice, yellow rice, or omelette with toast. It might be a western food, but trust me, you have to try their omelette toast. I really like their sweet potatoes. Cons : - If you're driving with car, you have to park at the other side road, and walk around 2-3 minutes to villa. Because their villa is can't reach by car. But if you rent a bike, or motorcycle, it's fine, you're ok to go.

Booked this place for my family including a 3 yo and a 4 month old. Booking was via Air BnB. For the cost of the booking, the place deserves accolades for its location, facilities, catering and hospitality. Most importantly, the staff here are amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel cosy and at ease about the place. The place is minutes walk from the main markets but is secluded enough to get a piece of mind. Lots of options for takeaway food. Their pool was kept clean and they have amazing massage facilities.

The Moksha will always have a place in my heart as it was once considered to be a home away from home during my very first visit to Bali but I’m sad to say that I would probably not book here again. The quality and cleanliness of the room, especially the outdoor bathroom has deteriorated through the years.||The outdoor bathroom is in dire need of a deep cleaning and makeover. The tub was extremely dirty that I would not even step in it without my slippers on! The shower walls had mold growing on it and mold was clearly visible on the white shower curtain. It’s just not a good feeling when you’re looking at mold while trying to clean and freshen up! ||There was also mold on the throw pillows in the bedroom! I just threw them on the side and sprayed the couch down with my own concoction of tea tree oil and peppermint. At this point, I was totally disgusted and didn’t mind to tell the staff because we were only staying there for 2 nights and the staff could barely understand anything we said or asked questions about. There was no way I was going to try to explain the presence of mold in our room. ||Overall, the Moksha is a beautiful place. The grounds and pool is maintained on a daily basis and I wish I could say the same about the villa bathroom. Breakfast is mediocre (I remember it being so delicious back when the owner used to cook it) and can be served to you on your villa porch. We only had the free breakfast once and opted out on the other days. They also provide spa services which was not previously avail. They have a random “spa” section in their lobby area which completely throws the vibe off the place but that’s just my opinion. Hope the owners can re-focus some of their energy back into the Moksha as it is truly a special place for a...

  1. Location was great. Very close to everything but still serene and quiet. ||2) Spa was excellent and cheap (don't bother going anywhere else!). However, they do book up so you need to make appointments.||3) The pool view rooms have a view of the pool (duh) and everyone in the garden rooms has to walk past the pool room patios to get to their garden room. The garden room patios face each other, so none of the patios are particularly private. However, we ended up becoming great friends with our patio neighbors and spent an hour each morning chatting with them during breakfast! ||4) Breakfast was really good. I think they got rid of the banana pancake option because we stayed there for a week, and every day there were only two options (eggs or acai bowl). However, each day it was a different egg style and different acai bowl, so we didn't get bored. Juice, coffee/tea and dessert were included with breakfast. Portions were sufficient.||5) Staff were wonderful.||6) WiFi is pretty terrible, but internet packages are cheap. Definitely get a large 4g package at the airport.||7) The garden rooms were a little dated. There was occasionally a gas smell while turning on the shower. There was some mold in the shower. The room was pretty small and didn't have any furniture to spread out our clothes (just one small table and the two small nightstands). I didn't think this would matter but it was an inconvenience since we stayed for a week.||8) The AC could have been colder. It actually may have been fine if it was directly above the bed, but the unit was over the entrance to the room, so we usually woke up warm and kicked off the covers.||All in all, it was pretty good! We had...
