Being on our honeymoon my wife and I thought we would try this place as the name sounded fun and the look of the place looked very inviting.
Low and behold it all went downhill from there. To the point where we walked out before the food even arrived. If it ever did.
Firstly. They advertise themselves as a healthy place to eat with a focus on vegan dishes but they didnt even have a diet drink alternative. Just water and it was the same water that was served in every room for free at every hotel that we stayed at and yet they expected payment for it.
Secondly. Every restaurant and location to which we went while staying in Baleigh had their menus displayed at the front door but this location didn’t even have two menus to give us, because for some reason they were limited on the amount of menus that they had.
Thirdly, we then came to realize that the menu was very limited, and in a place where avocado grows richly everywhere at 7 PM for dinner they did not have avocado, which then forced my wife to have to change her order and settle for something that was not her first choice. Thirdly after 50 minutes of sitting and waiting for two basic dishes, we asked for a manager to speak to at which point we were told that there was no David Manager and no night manager available even though it was 7 PM.
Lastly the bathroom smelled like a porta potty and I know for fact my wife would not have ever used their facilities.
At that point we decided to leave the restaurant because we got...
Read moreThe Indonesian dishes were amazing! We tried the balinese fish dishes (curry fish & fish wrapped in banana leaves), nasi goreng ayam sambal matah, nasi campur bali, and they were all really tasty. No complains about the food and drink at all. The place is spacious, with high ceiling, and there are 2 floors. Most people choose the first floor in general. However, because of our big group, we chose the second floor and they set up a long table for 14 people (for us). The waitresses were really friendly, nice, and informative. They served the food very fast, around 10 minutes only after we ordered everything. It was quite warm on the second floor, but they had the overhead fans all over the second floor area. So it was quite chill eventually. It seems like their champion dishes are the Balinese food and the vegan food. This place is a must-try restaurant! Price-wise, it wasn't too expensive. It's a normal price just as in any other restaurants in Bisma area, especially considering the taste. The only downside here is the bugs, which is...
Read moreWe went for dinner as it is very close to our villa. I ordered the fish in banana leaves. It took 45 minutes for the dishes to come, but that’s ok since we were not in a hurry. I ate a piece of fish from one packet and thought it was strange that it was at ambient temperature (80F) and was raw. But I did not know what to expect since it was the first time I had the dish on the island, I opened the other packet and ate another piece, the same. Then I became suspicious and called the waitress over. She immediately apologized and took it back to the kitchen. Another waitress came and apologized again. At that point, I was more worried about getting sick over the raw fish in summer room temperature than the food itself. It was really inexcusable for the kitchen to mix up cooked and uncooked fish, especially considering the high ambient temperature. I was lucky to not getting sick this time, but it was extremely...
