This place became my home away from home ❤️ The minute I entered, I felt the serenity of this place. Although it is situated close to the Ubud center, you don't hear any traffic noise there. The guest house only has 4 rooms, so it is calm and you can enjoy the beautiful pool area and the garden view from your own terrace/balcony. Most of the time I had the pool for myself! My room was clean, big, with a big bathroom, hot shower with good water pressure! The air conditioner works great, the queen-sized bed is so comfy, very good pillows and blanket. Everything is clean and well maintained. There is free drinking water and a water heater in the room to prepare tea or coffee. You get great value for a surprisingly low price. But what makes this place truly special is the family who is running it! I am endlessly grateful for their warm-hearted welcome and during my stay. I've learned a lot about Balinese culture from them. Mrs. Bunik and Putu Desy showed me how to do the offerings and lend me the Balinese traditional clothes so that I could enter the temple. They also informed me whenever there were any local ceremonies so that I would not miss them. Putu Desy surprised me with green pancakes for breakfast several times. The level of engagement is up to you. If you ask and show interest, they are happy to talk, if you prefer to be left alone, they respect it. The family lives on the other side of the property, so you don't even hear them at the guest house. I would highly recommend this beautiful home stay and will always come back when in Bali. My family stayed at this place from August 19-23, 2019. Good location, near many restaurants, walking distance to Ubud Palace (main section of Ubud). Family own business and yet they provide very professional service, rooms are clean, little garden has been taking care of very well. Very relaxing & peaceful feeling, like a little paradise of its own. Only 4 rooms on this property, because it was built on their family's land. This is an opportunity for us to learn about the local people & culture. We, my wife, my daughter and I, felt so at home because of their hospitality. There are some black sugar cane grown right on the little garden near by the room, my daughter wished to try, and the owner immediately have it chopped down and serve us. Yes, it was fresh 100%. Every morning, breakfast was served right in front of our room. Our family took over the pool, just like a private pool built for us, since the guests in the other 2 rooms didn't use it. We had the best experience ever at this place, Pondok Giri Suniya. Yande is the manager, he is also the son of the owner. We met his wife & his parents. Good to know that Yande's father is the English teacher at the local school and his grandmother (father side), is the great chef during the 60's. She opened the very first restaurant in Ubud.
