Three Monkeys Ubud — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Now I am not very fussy when it comes to food and I am happy with a $2 nasi gorang... the wife and I went to 3 monkeys last night for mothers day hoping for a really nice meal... NOT the case, 1st ordered 2x cocktails (very strong) undrinkable, so we ordered a Sprite to weaken flavor down... (no ice or straw) dirty glass.. order.. 2x bruschetta... took 1 bite (uncooked old bread with off tomato) yuk! Main order.. a side of fries and 2x pork belly sticky sauce and salad... pork was so dry and overcooked and too chewy to eat the fat. Fries were burnt and looked like mould was on them.. hoping the salad would be ok BUT NO!! Salad dressing tasted like dirty sewage water... wife and I paid the bill in full $68.00 au NOT HAPPY.. spoke to the manager to "vent" and he did not care at all and said " so what you had bad meal.. I don't care what you say more people will just come"... I could not believe it.. we left.. NEVER...

Where do I start. The food is absolutely beautiful. Maybe one of the best I've had in my life.

Yes the prices are somewhat expensive compared to other places in Ubud but considering the quality you are receiving it is ABSOLUTELY worth it and the value is wonderful.

Not only that but the waitresses are so welcoming and sweet. One of them held our baby the whole duration of when we ate and expected nothing in return so we tipped her nonetheless.

Would recommend as a single night out :)

Only downside was they charged a compulsory 'percentage' for services. I find it absurd it's a percentage base and not a fixed price and also that's it's compulsory in the first place. Also taxes are paid separately so the bill adds up at the...

The place is really nice & the staff are very welcoming & attentive. The food (beef rendang) was good & very tasty. The Bloody Mary Cocktails here though aren't the best, they lack flavour & a punch & they are on the exy side too as all of the drinks seem to be at Three Monkeys. The dessert, double chocolate brownie sandwich was quite stale & had a definate taste of the refrigerator. I really didn't enjoy the tiramisu cocktail though, it had far too much vanilla & baileys & nowhere near enough chocolate flavour, bearing in mind that Tiramisu is a chocolate & coffee flavoured dessert.
