This place has a chill no-nonsense vibe with multiple signs saying "We don't offer wifi. Talk to each other. Pretend it's 1995." I love it. It's cozy and literally translates to "family garage", and has a little introduction at the front of the menu. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome here. And the kitchen is fully open so you can watch everyone hard at work making your meal.
We tried the lumpia garasi (spring rolls), the kare tahu tempe (tempeh cooked in a curry sauce) and the mie kuah - indonesian noodle soup. I asked if I could have the soup without chicken and they happily offered to replace the chicken with tofu/tempeh. The food was very good, with subtle and savory flavors. Read moreStaying with Ketut and his family in their guesthouse was the best decision for me because I was traveling alone for the first time. They helped me with everything from organising my transports, changing rooms, recommending me places to visit, to extending my visa. They made me feel like I was home, we were talking about local life and I ate almost every day at their warung, food is amazing and fresh and breakfast was delicious every day😊Rooms are clean and basic, the price is very cheap and because of the location in the center of Ubud you can walk and see almost everything. After one month they became my local family... Thank you for everything hope to...
