Our family stayed at Casa Dreosti in Cortona for 3 days while touring through Italy. We were surprised to find how centrally it is located, just off the main square and Main Street. The kids were able to roam freely as they never needed to walk too far for a gelato or a slice of pizza! ||The rooms are situated over two floors. 2 rooms on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. The kitchen is on the ground floor. There is a large staircase that winds up in the middle of the house which makes it easy to carry up the suitcases. ||We stayed in 2 of the 4 rooms. All the rooms were fully equipped with air con and on-suite. The bathrooms are brand new and clean and the beds are too.||The bathrooms have white fluffy towels and the crisp white linen and new mattresses provides for a good nights sleep. There is also plenty hanging and packing space in the drawers and cupboards. Every room has a desk and chairs to round of the room. The rooms are bright and breezy. ||The kitchen is fully equipped and guests may use it as they wish. We made breakfast in the mornings and used the fridge to keep some wine cold. There is a great coffee machine to start the day. ||The house has recently been done over and everything is brand new. It is such a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful old building but with all the modern amenities. Dishwasher, dryer, ironing board, air con, central heating, hair dryer etc. ||I will strongly recommend this place for its location, amenities and cleanliness. ||The host, Jerome, was very friendly and a larger than life character. He speaks both English and Italian and also a bit of Portugese, Dutch and French. He was very helpful with information on the area and in town. He is a great chef and you will be lucky to catch him cooking something nice which he is more than willing to share. He even has a few extra bottles of wine for sale in his kitchen for late night guests!||Cortona is a beautiful town situated in the heart of Tuscany. It is situated on a hill with a beautiful view. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and great little shops. The people are very friendly and it is a great town to discover and explore. ||The only problem with our stay was that it was too short. We will definitely be back and look forward to staying again at...
Read moreWe used Casa Dreosti as our basis to explore Tuscany and the surrounding areas. It was everything we dreamed of and more. It was centrally located in the city centre, walking distance to all the sights and literally 30 metres away from the restaurant that was used in the movie – Under the Tuscan Sun. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The owner is very helpful and charming and when we did not have anything for our first morning to eat, he made us a scrumptious breakfast.||||The rooms are well equipped and in the August heat the best thing was the great new aircon and cold water in the bar fridge. ||||I will highly recommend this guesthouse if you are travelling with kids, want to be close to all that Cortona has to offer with it restaurants and bars. There is a great Pizza shop that sells 1euro Pizza slices just 50 metres away and for our kids it was heaven!!!||||Best thing about this place it is a new establishment. Everything was renovated last year, therefore it does not have that tacky old feeling as a lot of other...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of spending several days with Jeroen at his Guest House in April 2024. Jeroen is the absolute best host. He took the time to answer our questions prior to arrival and was ready for arrival when we got to Cortona after a very long day of travel from the US. Our room was spotless and was just the accommodation we were hoping for when we arrived in Beautiful Cortona. The room comes equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nice and also had a blow dryer, extra towels and plenty or room to move around. Each morning Jeroen will deliver to your room a wonderful light breakfast to start the day- croissants, fresh fruit and coffee/cappuccino. The location couldn't have been better of Casa Dreosti. Walking down the narrow street as you approach the building is like something out of a movie. Absolutely stunning. I highly recommend Casa Dreosti to anyone looking for a special place to stay when...
