Locanda Petrella 26 — Hotel in Cortona

Firstly the location within the Piazza was wonderful. So fantastic to be so close to all the gorgeous restaurants and after four days we felt like a local! Our taxi driver would come and collect us to go and visit more spectacular places conveniently located, like Assissi! That was amazing. The accommodation was perfect and our lovely lady was always there to greet us each morning in the dining room with hot coffee and pastries etc. The rooms were also perfect, clean, comfortable, modern bathroom and the view wonderful. We drove to Cortona after the hustle and bustle of Venice and Florence and we are so glad we did. Free parking is just outside of the city and a short uphill (with outdoor escalators!) walk to Locanda Petrella. The woman that owns it is friendly and very accommodating. She suggested a couple of restaurants and they were excellent. The room with clean, quiet and includes breakfast. If your looking for a big city it may not be for you but if your looking for somewhere to walk around, do a little shopping and have a good meal at a local restaurant keep it in mind. Our room was lovely, roomy and clean with an amazing ceiling and characteristic furniture. The bathroom instead was very small with an ill fitted shower. The location of the b&b is perfect and is on a very quiet little street which allowed us to sleep really well. The breakfast was nice with pecorino cheese and crudo toscano as well as focaccia and croissants etc...my only slight criticism is the coffee. It could have been a lot better or there shouldn be the possibility of having a cappuccino etc. The owner is very nice too and gave us some advice on...
