This B&B was very nice and clean. The room was huge and you felt like you were stepping back in time. Eduardo (I think that was his name) who checked us in was very nice. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. There was an armoire and drawers for clothing which I appreciate, I hate living out of a suitcase. They had the tiniest elevator in the world to take you from the ground level floor (level 0 in Italy, apparently, not 1 like the US). Eduardo had to take our bags up to the reception room and send it back down for us!||We had an upgraded room with jet tub; there was no view except for the alley. Something that really stood out that would make me not want to book this room again was the tub/shower (which made me choose this room in the first place!) They put the shower water controls so that you have to climb into the tub and reach under the shower head to turn it on. That means that you get blasted with cold water! In the photo it looks like they are near the open end of the tub, but those are for the tub, not the shower. Also, if you have any kind of bendability issues with your knees, do not book that room. The tub is very high, very slippery, and you will have a hard time getting in and out (I did also, and my knees work fine, unlike my wife who has limited flexibility in her knee). The edge of the tub is narrow so it is not conducive to sitting and swinging your legs over.||Another thing that could be different is the key holder used to hold the three keys they give you. WTH? It weighs about a half pound and is bulky as can be! We took the keys off the holder (although I could have used it as a weapon if necessary to bonk someone in the head and knock them out).||Lastly, we got free breakfast with our Booking dot com reservation. It was in another B&B, just a short walk from Stanze del David. The woman who greets (?) you was not very friendly, and seemed to be pissed off that we were there. We only went there twice, out of the four mornings we were at the B&B.||This B&B was very centrally located to the historical area and the...
Read moreWe are on a 10-day Italian vacation and this has been our best room of the trip. Things that you take for granted in the states are often overlooked in European standards. But this room was truly 5-star. We arrived a few hours before check-in time but our room was ready and we were able to check in early. Upon arrival, we were given a map of the city and shown the highlights to make sure we hit during our time in Florence. This helped in making the most of our quick stay. We were so pleased with the extra touches (memory foam pillows, a comfortable bed and a standard hair dryer!) that were provided. The decor was beautifully done. Classy and spotless, high ceilings, the list goes on. The room was in a PERFECT location. Public bathrooms aren’t always easy to come by in Italy, and it seemed that no matter where we went, it was a quick walk back to the room if we needed to use the restroom, drop off bags, grab a coat, etc. It was an easy walk from the train station for us (about 15 minutes, but you get to see a few sites along the route such as the Duomo, so it doesn’t seem so long). We’ll take a taxi to the airport. My only complaint is that we only have one night here! Thank you for a...
Read moreWe were fortunate enough to return recently to Italy/ Florence. We have stayed here many times and felt we were back home. What a joy. Charming rooms, expertly decorated and immaculate.|Everything was, as always, PERFECT. The owner/ hosts are simply charming and very helpful- they assure each guest has everything needed for a memorable stay. And the location….just a few minutes to all museums and key sites. The ticket office is at the end of the street, at Orsanmichele - now that’s convenient… Great pastries and coffee/eats across the street at Verrazano. Nice market around the corner and good nearby restaurants and panini places. Excellent shopping. ||Cleanliness is superior- always has been. Bravo Daniele, Nadia e Famiglia…. Can’t wait to return next year. An outstanding choice and great value- you’ll be...
