If you're a fan of authentic Italian cuisine, Cacio e Pepe in Florence is an absolute must-visit. Nestled in the heart of this beautiful city, this charming restaurant offers a perfect blend of traditional flavors and warm, welcoming service.
The Cacio e Pepe itself is a revelation. The pasta is perfectly al dente, coated in a creamy blend of Pecorino Romano cheese and freshly cracked black pepper. The sauce is simple yet incredibly rich, with just the right balance of tangy and spicy, enveloping the noodles in a velvety finish. It’s a dish that shows how minimal ingredients, when prepared with passion and expertise, can create something truly unforgettable.
What sets this spot apart, though, isn’t just the exceptional food—it’s the atmosphere. The cozy, rustic vibe of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re dining in a classic Florentine trattoria, where the food is made with care and the focus is on quality over anything else. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, offering great wine pairings to complement the meal.
If you’re in Florence, do yourself a favor and experience the true taste of Italy at Cacio e Pepe. It’s the kind of meal that will linger in your memory long after you’ve left the table. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this is one culinary experience you won’t...
Read moreI'm so happy we listened to the other reviews and ate here for lunch while we were in Florence for a week. I just wish we would have tried it a few days earlier. We would have gone back for dinner. I had the spaghetti pomodoro, and my husband had the spinach ravioli with shaved truffle. It was one of our best and favorite meals of the week. The ravioli was heavenly. The glass of wine I was brought was on the verge of turning, and I asked for a fresh glass. I have experience in the wine industry so I really could tell. I wasn't just a wine snob that wanted to complain for no reason. The waiter pulled down from the wall of wine a new bottle for me, and allowed me to try the wine that time, and it was wonderful. He gave me a little attitude about it at first (which was fine), but then admitted later that perhaps the bottle had been opened a few days too long. He said he poured the rest of the bottle out. Overall one of the best experiences with food, wine, people, and environment we had in the city. Thank you to the chef for a beautiful meal and for the waiter for being so...
Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTING The service that we received was terrible, my partner and l ordered a pizza to share and the only reason we stopped was because the prices seemed fair and we noticed the fast and attentive service the other customers were receiving It took a bit of time before our order was taken. We ordered a margarita pizza and when the food arrived the sauce was watery and tasteless making the pizza a soggy mess. The crust was also burnt adding a bitter charred taste to the pizza. I feel that the other guests were receiving much more attentive and quick service and even noticed that the bill was brought to them but after waiting for quite some time I got up and asked for the bill myself. The overall tone was very relaxed and the setting was nice with not a lot of guest so it was hard to feel like the lack of attention wasn’t intentional. I didn’t like having to pay for a service fee that I felt wasn’t provided and nearly doubled the cost of our one pizza and truly feel if you’re charging a fee you should simply provide...
